I know it's early, but I know I ovulated and I know we dtd on that day, and yesterday I could not stop going for a pee.... Like bursting all of a sudden. So I done a test (ebay ic bulk tests lol) and there was a faint line... Waited an hour done another one... Fainter line. This morning... Still a faint line... And then an hour or so ago i just couldn't stop thinking about it and done another one and another faint line. Pics included. Early bfp starting to form? Lines are definitely pink and appear straight away. (only opened tests to get a good picture) don't worry Grin

@Mabeebabee87 yeah I'm terrified of any little cramp thinking I'm away to bleed but I think anyone would feel like that! Just need to keep positive!!

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 12:09

@keepingbees I'm not having a go at anyone for saying buy a free or anything lol but not everyone wants to buy expensive tests and it's like cheap tests are bad. They do the same job. They might not be as dark... Or have as much dye or get Evap lines... But they pick up hcg just like any other test and getting a positive on like 6 or 7 tests can't be false. Each to their own but I believe these tests. All I'm scared about now is that it's going to start fading away again. So my slightly darker bfp this morning was such a happy moment

@TTCSoph2019 of course. Let us see 😊

@Mabeebabee87 I only ever used cheap tests! 2 children later...

Hcg doubles every 48-72 hours so in a day or two your line should be a lot darker :) looks good to me!

keepingbees · 07/05/2020 12:16

I know you weren't having a go, and I agree that all tests pick up the same and it's silly to buy branded tests at £10 a go when you're testing regularly. I always used the internet cheap strip tests and supermarket own brands and found them reliable and they did the job. But there are some cheap tests that look like the ones you're using which have given very convincing lines which have turned out to be false. The ones in Asda are called freedom or something like that (not Asda own brand which are fine) and they can give false positives.

hopeful97 · 07/05/2020 12:20

@keepingbees I kind of agree there's definitely good cheapies and bad cheapies! Never used the freedom ones but I have a mix of the flimsy stick one step and the midstream one step and the more expensive cheapies have been giving better lines and are nhs approved blah blah blah so I'm hopeful, however I'll know for certain once my bloods are back :) I think TTC sends everyone a bit manic and obsessive over brands / double checking etc xx

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 12:23

I've actually read so many posts on different sites from women who hate frer and cb. Frer apparently give Evaps too and cb are blue dye which people say is the worst for Evaps.... So.... The only persons opinion you can really trust is your own... And whether or not you believe any test

OP posts:
keepingbees · 07/05/2020 12:27

@hopeful97 yeah some are definitely better than others. Nothing wrong with the majority of cheapies, I never had a problem with any personally and I've used the really thin cheap as chips ones off eBay! But I've also seen a lot of heartbreak on here with certain tests, and TTC is the time you need the most certainty.
Good luck with your blood results!

TTCSoph2019 · 07/05/2020 12:31

@mabeebabee87 thank you so much, I've kind of talked myself out of it now as the test has dried out I think it's evaporated 🤦🏼‍♀️ but will show anyways

TTCSoph2019 · 07/05/2020 12:33

Any it's waaaay fainter on any of this pics on this string 🙈

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 12:34

@TTCSoph2019 what dpo are you hun? You might still be really early, like I was when I first test. There's some shadowy thing there lol try again tomorrow 🤞 fingers crossed

@mabeebabee87 I'm not sure.... and thats is the problem🤪. Before and after my miscarriage I was a bit of a crazy lady with the apps and schedule and everything, so this is the first cycle I'm doing blind. I deleted all the apps and have been trying to focus on living life in the now. But I guess I'd be around the 4 week mark. My cycles can vary between 30-40 days long so I'm never quite sure anyways 🙈

Allmyeggsinmybasket · 07/05/2020 12:50

How many dpo are you now @Mabeebabee87? I don’t know if those tests ever get really dark or not as I’ve never used them but I think maybe I’d be hoping for a slightly darker line by now. But keeping my 🤞🏻 For you!

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 13:20

About 13-14dpo. Could be less... I'm going by when I got a positive opk but when can you ever really know 100% when you ovulated.

OP posts:
Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 13:20

@TTCSoph2019 just keep testing, if your pregnant the line will get darker, fingers crossed it works out for you 😊

DressingGownofDoom · 07/05/2020 13:42

I agree some tests are bad for evaps, like freedom, but when you've used the same brand for a long time and haven't noticed false positives I do think it's fair to presume a line is a positive result. So I would say at this moment yes it's likely you are pregnant OP however - and you will know this yourself - the line is a little bit faint for what you would want at 13 dpoish however that could be the brand which is why I do think it would be sensible to try a different brand of test.

Moominmiss · 07/05/2020 14:01

I have to say I agree with what @DressingGownofDoom is saying.

I would expect the line to be that faint at really early testing stage. 9/10dpo maybe. But by 13 or 14 I’d be expecting a nice pink line that is very easy to see. It may be that those tests just don’t have much dye in them, but that’s also why I’d want to try a different brand to see if it’s the level of hcg not rising or just those tests in particular causing such faint lines.

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 14:11

I could be a little less. I got a positive opk and a migraine on the 23rd.

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 07/05/2020 14:16

A positive opk on 23rd would put you at ovulating on 24th so that would make you 13dpo today.

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 14:20

This is all new to me so I don't really know how dark a line should be at what point lol

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 07/05/2020 15:03

There’s no set darkness for how tests should look, every test and every woman is different with the levels of hcg they produce.

But seeing as you got a faint line back on 29th April then I would have expected to see a bit more progression than what you’ve had. Which is why it could be useful to try a different test to see if it is just those types of test that perhaps don’t contain much dye. I mean if hcg doubles every 48/72 hours then you should have enough built up by now (going from when you had your first visible line), to get a positive on a digital.

Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 15:17

I'll see what tomorrow's test looks like Smile

OP posts:
Mabeebabee87 · 07/05/2020 15:29

Wow I woke up this morning hopeful but wasn't expecting much. Done a test... over the moon at a darker line, and now I've gone back to feeling horrible, too good to be true. I knew it 😔😢

OP posts:
raspberryjamlove · 07/05/2020 15:37

I think it looks very promising. Last time I got a complete negative the day af was due 3 days later a strong line, everyone is different and has different levels of hgc. Keeping my fingers crossed for you :) xx
