Hi all! Since I’ve been with my partner (6 years) we’ve using the withdrawal method with success. Now we’ve started trying and I worried something is wrong with us as we never had accident with the withdrawal. Has anyone been through the same thing?

It's natural to doubt or question things like this.

If you were doing it correctly then it wouldn't have led to pregnancy. It also means you'll have a great knowledge of your cycle so if there are no problems, you'll be pregnant quickly.

Either you believed that the “withdrawal method” was a legitimate contraceptive method or you didn’t.

If you did, why do you think it’s odd that it never failed?

If you don’t, why were you using it as contraception?

You’re not making any sense.

(Spoiler: withdrawal is not safe contraception, but at this point you may as well just crack on with TTC and seek help if nothing happens within a year.)

Call me meatloaf @ArriettyJones because you took the words right out of my mouth.
Just have as much sex as possible OP ,especially if you know your cycle well so know when you are ovulating and see what happens over the next 6-12 months

I had exactly the same worries as you. We’ve used it for 5 years and I’ve fallen pregnant twice - both on the first times he didn’t withdraw as we wanted to TTC. Some men don’t have sperm in their pre-cum. It’s a big gamble to experiment and find out which category your man falls under, but we were happy knowing we would have continued a pregnancy at any point.

Wishing you lots of luck!

We used it successfully for over two years, and got pregnant almost as soon as we stopped. It can work!
