Should my BFP be getting darker every day?

Ladies, please can you help me?

I got my first ever BFP on Saturday, v faint line on a one step at 11DPO, FMU. At lunch time I took a digi and a Sainsbury's and both said pregnant!

On Sunday FMU, the one step looked to be getting darker.

However this mornings FMU has not darkened the one step. But I get a very clear line on the FRER, though it could be darker (13DPO today, period due on Saturday since I have long cycles).

Should I be worried the dip test isn't much darker today? I thought they were supposed to get darker every day.

My chart still looks good. Photos attached & continued in comments.

Please help calm my nervous mind if you can!

(And no I don't plan to test every single day forever...this is just my first so I am very nervous!)

Your line should darken as HCG doubles. I don't know if you are usually the same test?

Have you heard of a chemical pregnancy OP? Very common and only people who test early are likely to be aware of them.

If you are getting pregnant on a digi that is a good sign as you need a good level of hormone.

If you can afford to stick to frer and just take every 48/72 hours of you a re worried you should see it darker and eventually test line steal the control line colour

Crystal87 · 28/04/2020 06:35

I would try and hold off testing for 2 days as HCG is meant to double every 48 hours. From personal experience, the test line was always as dark as the control line by about 12 dpo and by 14 dpo it had gone darker than the control line. Yours does seem a bit faint but if you have ovulated a couple of days late then that could explain it.

peachypetite · 28/04/2020 06:44

Bloody hell OP. Step away from the tests! honestly just wait until your period is late or at least the day it is due.

cookielove · 28/04/2020 06:49

Every 48 - 72 hours it doubles, just try to wait it out a bit longer. As a serial pee on a stick (poas) person i know how hard that is!

Good luck
Today you are pregnant
Congratulations

Thanks ladies. I am such an anxious mess (as you can see). I think I will stop testing & only test again on day Thursday or Friday, to see if it's darker by then. I will book in for bloods next week too. I wish someone could just tell me it'll be ok!! Lol. Thank you Smile

IME the one step never really got dark. It’s still very early, try to stop testing! The darkness of the lines won’t tell you much, unless they are getting lighter.

With my DS I had a really dark positive frer at 11dpo. With DD it was still very faint at 15dpo.

Trying2b · 28/04/2020 07:34

Hello! Try not to panic. I know it's a very anxious time. I'm 13dpo with baby number 3. I've been testing for the last few days too. My One Steps are getting slightly darker but still not as dark as the control line yet, but I'm not concerned because I'm also doing FRER and they ARE getting darker and pretty much the same at the control line now. I'd say that the one steps are just a bit crappy. Of course, chemical pregnancy is also a possibility, I've had a few myself but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion based on the cheapie tests. You are pregnant, congratulations! Xx

This is a one step the day of my missed period - I ovulated early so it's 15DPO.

Chill out and test every other day at most.

Thanks all

@NChangeForNoReason, is that recent or do you mean you went on to have a successful preg? Congrats both ways Smile

Hi all..just to say thanks for your advice. I tested again this morning (so 48hrs later) & the onestep and Sainsbury's were much darker than earlier in the week. The FRER was borderline the same as Tuesday, maybe a bit darker, but from what I've read that's not necessarily a cause for alarm esp since it is not faint. Thank you for your help y'all 💕

Fab news x

Trying2b · 30/04/2020 07:35

@gb000 congratulations, that's amazing! I'd say the FRER probably won't get much darker than that anyway now, so try to relax and enjoy being pregnant xx

Thurs is definitely darker!!

Congratulations x
