Hi all. Ive decided to use OPKs this cycle.
I bought the femometer ones to use alongside the app but ive realised youve got to have a steady hand taking the pic and ive had a variety of results based on the pics ive uploaded so im a bit clueless Grin
Ive uploaded a pic. The app has said negative, low with a LDH of 8 and then also read as high with a LDH of 36 with predicted ovulation in 3 days.
Im going to have to manually interpret them but where do I begin lol.
Im cycle day 12 today, currently having a 29-30 day cycle. Ive got no usual ovulation signs appearing just yet.
Any help would be great
Thankyou

That's a negative test, you need the test line to be as dark or darker than the control line for a positive. But keep testing every day!

The test sticks are confusing at first but once you get your peak test you can't mistake it and it'll all become easier to read the more you do.
I agree with getting a steady hand with the Femometer app as I've just started using that alongside another. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for replying.
I read somewhere that once you get a positive you should continue testing every few hours until you get another negative is that right?
Im assuming with a faint line it would suggest your either in your fertile window/very close to be.

Thankyou, good luck to you too!

Hello - a line this faint you'd get any time of your cycle outside of FW so don't worry about doubling up on testing just yet. Starting testing twice a day once you get the high readings.

Don't worry about it being low on CD12 btw. Mine go low, next the high, next day super peak and then back down to low the following day. I.e. you could still only be two days away from OD without it showing much of anything just yet - just make sure you're DTD now!

If you're new to this then also don't forget not to use FMU, not to drink excessively before a test and to hold your wee for a few hours before testing :)

Ohh I didnt realise youd always get a faint. I was very surprised to see something straight away but yeah that makes sense haha. Thanks so much!

Well at least I do! I think there's pretty much always a low level of LH in your system - and eg my app only distinguishes between low, high and peak cause I don't really think there's an option for completely blank!

Lottie3093 · 27/04/2020 18:17

Yeah ive had a little read and its always there so yeah youd always get something. I was expecting blank like a hcg lol.
Thankyou at least i know to look out for something glowing

Sorry to gate crash but does anyone use OPKs I'm so confused I have a line which isn't as dark as the control line so not positive even though my app says I'm ovulating today but does the line mean I have ovulated and it's getting weaker or I haven't yet and it's going to get stronger they are so confusing 🙄

bluebell94 · 01/05/2020 12:53

@Positevibes apps just guess when you ovulate based on algorithms, OPKs and tracking your CM are much more accurate. Ideally you need to test at least once a day from around day 9/10 to see when you ovulate. You will generally always have 2 lines on a test and need to see when the line darkens by testing every day. Good luck

@bluebell94 thank you
