How long till I should be worried?

Hi all. Me and my partner have been trying for seven months now. Still nothing. When is it time to think something could be 'wrong' or is this normal that it can take this long? I'm worried something could be wrong. I've had scans for other reasons so I know all is working OK inside! Periods are on time 95 percent of the time. Am I just being impatient? 😔😔😔😔

Sadly there is nothing you can do until the 12 month mark as a GP won't see you until then, unless you are over 35 then it's 6 months. I know how you feel, I'm on month 9 now but I know I have low progesterone - I had bloods done 2 months ago because I've had 2 chemicals but all the GP said was come back in 4 months...

TTC is a hard hard journey, stay positive as much as you can x

Me and my hubby have been ttc for 7 months and 1 week I have had a hormone test done and its been normal I have missed 2 periods there's nothing wrong with either of us it's just taking time to happen!

@Beau20 we're both 34 (just) so not far off the 35 Mark!!

It is hard. Thank you. I know we're not alone with it but it just seems like everyone is having babies and we can't make it happen. Its heartbreaking when its all you want. 😔 x

It took my husband and I 18 months to conceive. I'm 19 weeks now. It was around Christmas/New Year that we had a conversation about booking an appointment with the doctor to see if there was a problem with either of us. A couple of weeks later I found out I was pregnant. I've tracked, tried temping, tried not tracking as you hear so many people say they fell pregnant when they weren't actively trying. Eventually it happened at the right time. Just keeping persisting and if you're still worried by the 12 month mark get in touch with your doctor as it may alleviate your concerns

@NicoleR14n I guess for some people it does take longer. Its good to know there is nothing wrong though 😊

My DH and I are 33 and it took us 8 months - no reason for it, and it is just so frustrating and upsetting. Don't lose faith, and if you get to the year mark then do go to the doctor just in case. In all likelihood you're fine, it just takes a while sometimes

@4amWitchingHour thanks this is good to know. I know of people who took first time and then there is us seven, almost 8 months on and still nothing and it makes you question what are we doing wrong! 😬😂

@Gtcttww86 my and my hubby are both 21 I thought with us being so young as we were 20 when we started it wouldn't of taken as long as it has I've herd loads about people younger and a little older happening as soon as they stop birth control or taking them a wee while until it just happens I think it depends on our bodies it is very upsetting when all you see around you is people having babies but our time will come!

@NicoleR14 I'm trying not to. I think being stuck at home doesn't help. Hopefully it will happen when we least expect it! Good things come to those who wait and all 😊😍

@Gtcttww86 that is so true! I think the best way to deal with lockdown atm is to dtd continuously even if it isn't your month you'll still have plenty of fun 😉😂

I wonder if our issue might have been timing - I was tracking ovulation with bbt and tests but never got a strong positive, although my temp rise was pretty consistent. The one time I got a strong positive ov test was when we conceived, so maybe my ovulation was earlier than I thought and I have a longer than usual temp lag time. We possibly should have just had more sex earlier on in the month and maybe I'd have caught earlier, but it gets psychologically wearing when it's "for a purpose"! Good luck, I hope it happens for you soon :)

@4amWitchingHour I've never had a very very strong positive on an ov test. They are there, and do get stronger but never had a very very strong one. We usually start almost straight away and do every other day or otherwise three days, which can get tiring at my age (34) 😂😂😂😂 and especially when you aren't in the mood and you know you are potentially on a 'baby making day' you feel like you have to do it!

It takes the fun out of it when its like that.

I'm due on my period tomorrow and I've started spotting already so almost certain I've not taken this time either 😢😢
