Hi these are my first 2 days of using ovulation tests. Can Any one advise when they think I should test again?

I would test at 5pm and 9pm CD11
then 2- 3 times tomorrow etc until you see that the test line is darker than the control line.
i've missed mine by only testing once a day i tend to peak in the evenings

NannyPear · 26/04/2020 12:42

How long is your cycle usually? If your cycle is 30 days, for example, then I'd be testing once a day until CD 13/14 then twice a day (second morning urine and evening). If longer, or shorter, adjust as necessary. If you see the test result getting close to being positive regardless of what CD you're on then I'd be testing twice daily until it's positive. Hope that makes sense.

It takes a cycle or two before you get to know what the test results mean for you. Some people see a gradual darkening until their LH surge, others don't.

@Kona84 @NannyPear
I'm not to sure what my cycles are like I had ivf to have my little boy and then ivf to have my second little boy which ended in me losing him at 21 weeks in September. And since February my periods seem to have returned as never used to get periods hence the ivf.

You should try the Premom app. It's free and and you upload photos of your ovulation test and it gives you a high/low reading. It's really good!

lmpf2019 · 27/04/2020 12:10

My one today seems lighter than yesterday's. Is this normal?

Yes very normal. You always have some LH in your system which fluctuates throughout your cycle. Also concentration of urine can affect the results a little.

lmpf2019 · 27/04/2020 12:43

Thank you @NannyPear when would you recommend testing again?
Sorry I'm new to this 🙈 feel like a bit of an idiot.

Because you can't really make a good guess at when you ovulate I'd test again this evening, then twice daily from now on if you have enough sticks :) it's all a bit crazy and complicated at first but you'll get there!

lmpf2019 · 28/04/2020 13:10

What does anybody think of this one? It's CD13. My app is saying still low but I would of said it's nearly positive.

Still not positive but it looks like you might be getting closer. Keep testing. How long are your cycles normally?

Sorry to hear about you losing your little boy. Flowers

lmpf2019 · 28/04/2020 13:43

@peperethecat
Unfortunately I'm not sure as my periods only seem to have returned in the last 3 months which was 40 days then 28 then 26. So I don't really no.
Thank you has been a difficult few months.

If you are settling in to a regular 28-ish day cycle then you might ovulate within the next couple of days. Keep testing and see if you get a true positive. You might also find temping helpful. If you weren't ovulating before the IVF and you think maybe the IVF and/or the pregnancy has triggered something in your body to make you start ovulating naturally, charting your BBT will really help you see what's going on with your cycle now.

Juno231 · 28/04/2020 14:02

Still not positive but I reckon you'd get a positive one tonight if you test again. When mine are like that they go back to low the day after cause I've peaked in the interim.

NannyPear · 28/04/2020 14:19

Ooh that's looking good. Still not positive as already said, but getting there. Definitely test again this evening and tomorrow morning

lmpf2019 · 28/04/2020 14:49

@NannyPear @Juno231 @peperethecat thank you I will test again this evening and then again tomorrow morning.

This is today's test.
I'm now really confused. Have I missed it?

What was last night's like?

lmpf2019 · 29/04/2020 16:42

@NannyPear was light again but thought maybe didn't have a long enough hold. Only about 2 hours

OP posts:
NannyPear · 29/04/2020 16:45

Maybe you missed it... If you didn't have sex yesterday then do so today. Keep testing though, the body often gears up to ovulate before stopping then does so again a few days later.

lmpf2019 · 29/04/2020 20:35

@NannyPear thank you for all the advice. Just done another test. After over a 4 hour hold. My app is telling me this is my highest reading so far but not peak yet. X
