Worried what is going on

Hi everyone

I had sex over a month ago and realised I had missed one of my pills that day (progesterone only pill - mini pill) so I freaked out and 2 1/2 days later I got the morning after pill. The doctor said I was only 70% cover so he said I should get the coil within the 5 day window period. I got it put in the next day (4 days after) and the doctors said I’ll be fine. I had the worst pains after that that I could barley move and a period. Then it was fine. 3 weeks later I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. A week after that (so over a month later from the time of sex) I took another test and it was negative. I also got brown discharge the week after which followed with a period that lasted about 4 days.
So I presumed I wasn’t pregnant. However recently, I started to notice my breasts were sore, then the day after I got the worst bloating, and didn’t want to eat anything. It would be fine one minute, then I would have to lie down. And this happened for a whole day. It has now got better but I still feel shaky and don’t want to eat and a bit sick and tired. I’ve also had moments of fever flushes. This was also meant to be the day of my ovulation. I was petrified that I was pregnant but didn’t get how I was if I had got both the pill and the coil, PLUS I had had a period and had two negative tests. I spoke to my friend who has also had the copper coil put in and she says she gets similar side affects each month before her period/during her ovulation. I researched copper toxicity and now I’m worried it might be that, I have had a few moments of pain in my lower area as well.
Has anyone been on the coil before that has experienced this? Also does anyone have any advice?
I’m feeling better today (day 3 since it started) but I’m very shaky and not very hungry at all. I really hope I’m not pregnant as that would be the worst possible thing ever for me right now, so please tell me I can’t be please Sad

Hi OP,

Just wanted to bump this and check how you are. This sounds a bit worrying. If you haven't already, we really think you should get checked out by your doctor immediately. If not could you call 111 and tell them what you've written here?

Hi OP,
I would see the doctor for sure. I had the copper coil didnt have any problem expect the first few months period was alot heavier and cramps worse which settled eventually.
However you say you get hot fladhes etc it could be am infection..I think it's quite common to pick up infections when have coil in so I would definitely get checked asap am sure they will sort it quickly and get it out if it's an infection or reaction. I also think if you were pregnant with coil in more chance of ectopic so need to get checked sorry not trying to scare you am sure it wont be pregnancy sounds more like infection to me
Let us know how you get on and take care.
Xxxxxx
