Has anyone actually had implantation bleeding?

I am 99.9% sure I am just having a slow start to my period but this isn't usually what happens and as I am a day late there is a tiny bit of my brain wondering whether this is actually implantation bleeding.

How different does implantation bleeding look to any light flow you might get at the very beginning of your period? Is the day of your period too late for implantation period - or a day late even?

I've had two children and never had it so no experience of it.

I think it's a lot rarer than people think. I convinced myself every month that I had it, but it was always my period starting.

I had it with DS1, I get very light periods and that was a what it was like. I didn’t realise I was pregnant until I was 7 weeks.

@Mucklowe I agree. It has always sounded like an urban myth to me! I've been pregnant quite a few times (multiple miscarriages) and it didn't happen once so I'd be very surprised if it was implantation bleeding. Time will tell but as I said in my first post, I am pretty sure my period is coming.

I got my BFP on Monday and I had implantation bleed. I was totally convinced this was a MN myth! I was also 100% sure AF was on its way as I had all my normal symptoms: cramping, headaches, low mood. And when I started spotting, I thought it was the beginning of AF. But it was a light bleed, only when I wiped and sort of mixed with CM. Wishing you all the luck 💗

All I know is that I somehow had a period when I was already pregnant. So I don't know if that was an implantation bleed or a full blown period. So it is possible (I'm currently 24 weeks) to bleed and still be pregnant but I know it's rare.
That or my dates are wrong?

I had it with DS1. It was light and exactly like the start of my period so that's what I assumed it was but then the next day I had nothing at all so was a little confused. Took a test the following day (as still no bleeding) and it was a BFP (and he's 12 today!).

I got it with my first baby. It was just 2 spots of brown blood at 9 dpo or something & an early pregnancy test confirmed pregnancy that day. Good luck

I had it with my first, but have had spotting almost every month this time round. Still gets my hopes up 9 months on!

I've had it in three out of my four pregnancies. For me it was only a tiny smudge when I wiped similar to browny pinkish discharge around the time of a missed period. Like what you would think is the start of a period, but no " proper" blood comes out, then it stops.

I had it but started 4 days before AF was due. Pregnancy ended in MC and i am convinced implantation bleed was a sign not everything was ok.

Apparently it happens in around a third of pregnancies, it’s not that rare. Can be up to 6 weeks, not necessarily before or around when you’re due

I had pink blood a few days before AF was due, which never developed. I knew anyway before testing because of the crampy/pulling feelings I was having!

Ive had a wht could be an implantation bleed. I never usually bleed mid cycle and im always have regular cycles. 5dpo started spotting for 3 days only on wiping. Then 8dpo a heavier bleed then nothing after, it was nothing like usual AF which usually comes with bad cramps. No cramps this time. 10dpo BFN. AF due 28/29th so guess have to wait and see.....unless this was just a weird early AF

Mine definitely wasn't implantation bleeding but interesting to see that quite a few people did get it.

I had this with second pregnancy (some 10 years ago). Like a watery period for four days.
