Period returning after pill

Hi everyone,

I came off the pill a few months ago and still haven’t had a withdrawal bleed or a period. My husband and I initially thought we would be relaxed and just do the deed and see what happened but I’m starting to get frustrated as I now have no idea when AF is due or if/when I would be ovulating.

Has anyone got any advice for the period after coming off the pill? If we do the deed am I even remotely likely to get pregnant?

I have been on the pill for 7 years and my periods were always irregular before this so I probably need to wait a while before they regulate but I’m just starting to get a little frustrated and upset and wondering if this is pointless!

Thanks :) x

I was on the combined pill for 16 years. I stopped the pill in December, didn't have a withdrawal bleed. 6 weeks later had a period and have been regular (every 27 days) since. I guess i have just been lucky. I have read some people on here wait several months sometimes a up to a year to return to normal.

You can try and use opk tests to see if you are ovulating. You can get pregnant before having a period

First time I stopped the pill (late 20’s) it took nearly a year to come back!
This time around (early/mid 30) it was back within a month, it was irregular though.
I started temping which allowed me to work out when I ovulate (also irregular!). I would 100% recommend temping, I used fertility friend or natural cycles. It took a while but now I know the signs I’m about to ovulate, or already have.

I came off the mini pill in Feb after being on it for 7 years. First full period came beginning of March, again in April, and I’ve ovulated so just waiting for her to arrive beginning of May.
I hope things start kicking in for you.
I’ve read that although you may not have a period, you can still ovulate so can get pregnant but the doctors advise you to wait until a few periods in so it’s easier to determine when you conceived etc x

Thanks for all your replies! I think I will have to order ovulation kits to try and work it out!
