Any buddies trying SMEP for the first time this cycle?

Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

@VP91x yeah it is good, I thinks it so if you ovulate late, it does 20 sticks but then the following month you start taking the tests later so you should only use 10.
I'm loving the fertility yoga, been doing the same 15 min one every morning. Have you been doing it?

Hoping41 · 13/06/2020 11:06

@seafrontsky no af as yet but she's on her way (bfn this morning). I think she might come tomorrow which would be 1 day later than expected. I've also had no pains this month but last month I had terrible pains for a week before. The only thing I've done differently is eat the seeds in the second half so if that's helped, I'll definitely continue with them.

Seafrontsky · 13/06/2020 11:41

Oh sorry to hear that @Hoping41 you had such positivity too! Hope you're doing ok with the BFN. Its so heartbreaking to get to AF day and nothing, especially if you've had none of the usual symptoms. It gets your Hope's up just to crush them. I also have found the seed cycling quite amazing for managing hormones etc, had no sore boobs at all these last 2 months. Take it easy today, try to treat yourself with something nice.

@VP91x hang on in there! Hope you get your peak soon.

Been doing fertility yoga too @Fran2020 the one I do is just YouTube with positive affirmations and I'm really enjoying it. Just done my regular weekly class via zoom, definitely not gentle, it's an hour and a half of punishment today!

Hoping41 · 14/06/2020 10:23

@seafrontsky yes, she's still not here today either so something has changed. I'm normally regular as clockwork. I did yoga yesterday too and a very short run today. I've been feeling very quiet and inwards so hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.

VP91x · 14/06/2020 13:38

@Hoping41 sorry you're still in a little bit of limbo, hopefully AF comes soon so you get started on a new cycle xx

Seafrontsky · 14/06/2020 17:11

@Hoping41 I really hope things settle for you, a longer cycle was something you were hoping for right (although obvs no cycle at all for 9 months is what you're aiming for!). Hope you're bearing up ok and you get a clear steer so you can either move on or celebrate. 🧡

Hoping41 · 14/06/2020 20:20

Yes, a couple of extra days would be good. I think today is just a 'feel sorry for myself' day. I'll be fine again tomorrow

Seafrontsky · 14/06/2020 21:13

Absolutely you need a wallow day @Hoping41. Eat everything you want, enjoy some wine, and try to feel more like you and less TTC woman!

Fran2020 · 14/06/2020 22:04

How is everyone doing when are people due to test again? I'm CD14 with AF due 27th ish.

@Seafrontsky Thats good! Yeah the one I'm doing has positive affirmations too, I'm really enjoying it! Oh wow, long session then!!

Hopefulmummie · 14/06/2020 22:56

Hi everyone

I'm not sure if the earlier posters remember me.. I got pregnant last month from trying smep for the 1st time

Unfortunately I found out this week that I had an ectopic pregnancy:( I was just over 6 weeks.
I got the methotrexate injection on Tuesday and have been in hospital since as I was in alot of pain. I'm hopefully getting home tomorrow.

I will hopefully be joining you all again when the time is right for me.
I wish you all well and hopefully will speak to you soon

Dipsy77 · 15/06/2020 06:04

@Hopefulmummie I'm so sorry :( I hope you get to be home soon. X

serialplanner · 16/06/2020 09:11

Morning

How is everyone? Do we have some testers soon? What CD are you guys?

I am CD 9 so started SMEP on CD7 and getting ready to do all the BDing in the heat😂. OH has a big day at work today so let's see if he's in the mood tonight!

Fran2020 · 16/06/2020 09:17

I'm now CD16/ 4DPO so in the dreaded TWW with AF due approx 27th. Feeling calm so far and I want to stay that way this month!

@serialplanner enjoy all the BD in the heat! I hope he's in the mood for you!!

VP91x · 16/06/2020 14:42

Hey @serialplanner 😊
CD17 here, still being flashed at by CB, but getting slighty darker OPKs.

Last month got peak OPK on CD19, so maybe same this month. Interestingly yeaterday I had a streak of blood just the once in my EWCM exactly the same as last month on the same CD so it must be an O sign for me.

Enjoying all the BD! Do you know roughly when you're due to ovulate? Xx

Jilly1988 · 16/06/2020 16:34

I am now CD21 and 8dpo. AF is due on Sunday. I haven’t been too crazy in the TWW so far and kept myself busy but it’s always around 10dpo I turn crazy

Hopefulmummie · 16/06/2020 19:42

Thank you everyone for your messages.

I finally got home from hospital this afternoon. Although my blood tests today showed that pregnancy levels have went up again :(
They were going to give me another dos of the methotrexate injection today but decided to leave it and I have to go to early pregnancy on Thursday to have bloods again and check for levels. They are going to scan me too to check ectopic hasn't got any bigger.
I'm so relieved to be home but just wish this was over me and now I don't know if I will need another injection

Seafrontsky · 16/06/2020 20:16

Oh @Hopefulmummie how awful this keeps dragging on for you. I'm so glad you're home I hope you can be looked after and get some rest. Hopefully this is the end of everything now and you can move on.

@serialplanner enjoy all the BD, I find it's so much more fun when it's nice weather. Hope OH not too exhausted from his day!

CD 26 for me, due on saturday. 13 DPO and I'm so much calmer than other months. Normally I'm stressing so much by now but I've been trying to do positive affirmations and doing a fertility meditation. It's all helping me feel positive that this will happen for us soon, and if not this month then we are getting close. I will only test if I'm late and feel a reason too (ie symptoms) as BFN and stressing over AF are too much!

Good luck with next few days everyone.

VP91x · 17/06/2020 08:40

@Seafrontsky sorry if you've said before, what fertility meditation do you use or was that the youtube one that was mentioned?

It's good that you are feeling so much calmer. I hope AF won't arrive for you 🤞 xx

serialplanner · 17/06/2020 09:03

I find the tagging so tricky on this app so hopefully you can follow my drift!

Fran and Jilly - TWW🙌🏽 you got this. Lots of keeping busy. I feel excited you will test soon but I know when you are in it it's really hard to concentrate on anything!

@VP91x
Yay bring on your peak! It's great you have learnt your sign as well!

@Seafrontsky your approach sounds great? Where do you find this positive things? Anything you can share? You are very close to know - all the baby dust to you xx

@Hopefulmummie I'm sorry there is still something to investigate. Well done for being so strong. A testament to being a strong mumma.

Well, we both mutually couldn't be bothered last night but I did an extra test before bed and it's still low and low again this morning so hopefully no harm done. Will try again today and I think my CM is starting to change to a high might follow soon. I know I'm late but I'm really fascinated by OPKs and very glad someone on here told me not to rely on the app.
