Any buddies trying SMEP for the first time this cycle?

Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

@Seafrontsky ooh yes definitely ovulated and chart is looking good, fingers crossed for continued high temps x

@serialplanner yeah I totally get not wanting to test early, I think last month my CM was dry, my temps had dropped and I had not single symptom so it was more a confirmation I wasn't for me but no idea how I'll feel this month, but definitely don't do it to yourself if it'll make you feel bad, not long to wait xx

@SmileyT yes I'm going to wait for AF now and look forward to using the Ava xx

So interesting that your friends cycles are being messed up because of lockdown. Everything is so weird atm isn't it?

@Seafrontsky.oh wow look at those temps shoot up. Is this normal for you? My temps are always on the lower side anyway (35.58 today when I randomly woke up at 3am 🤔) if I got to 36.90 I don't know what I'd do 🤣 x

Hoping so @SmileyT! I find that the best way to crash with a bang too rather than BFN of AF.

@VP91x I'm generally 36.5 for first 14 days then 36.8 for TWW. I used to be much cooler by about 0.2 degrees but acupuncturist has helped get it higher. I think this is higher because it's been nice and warm recently, trying to keep my feet warm too! It all helps apparently!

Hey @Seafrontsky OH still not home so definitely missed yesterday. Cheapie OPK was + around 5pm then CB was on peak this morning so I guess technically one day earlier than last cycle? Will try to DTD today, plus next 2 days then hopefully that's enough. Fertility clinics are reopening so I'd go ahead and try get your laparoscopy booked in. Thanks for the supplement details!!

Thats good @cherrychatter! You can only DTD when OH is there (obvs!) so you're doing everything you can by the sounds of it! Have fun with all the BD. Will look into the clinics hadn't realised they were reopening.

@Seafrontsky I never knew how much acupuncture can do! Amazing really. I need to get some fluffy socks for the TWW because I am always barefoot in the house. Must keep warm!

How did you find acupuncture @Seafrontsky? It was recommended to me and I want to give it ago when thing open up again.

Hope everyone is good. I’m on CD 12. Usually OV on day 14 but have just got my solid smiley this morning. We BD yesterday so here goes another 3 days.

@jilly1988 good luck with all the bd!! I found the acupuncture really evened out my cycle - and it was so relaxing. No bfp yet though! I've been looking up fertility reflexology but unfortunately it looks closed until mid August. This virus is really making some things tricky.

How is everyone? CD7 for me today, low reading on the fertility monitor but watery CM. Last month I only had low readings then straight to peak on CD11. So DTD today and planning to DTD every other day until Peak and then every day!

@Jilly1988 I'm the same as @Hoping41 I found acupuncture really relaxing and it really helped even out my cycle and bring my BbT up. Also I had a lot of numbness around csection scar that it has completely gotten rid of. Now I'm talking about it so much I must book in another session when it reopens! I just googled acupuncture fertility and my local town and she came up. Another friend went to her for fertility and didn't get on with her though so I think it can be a personal thing really.

Ha ha, I'm exactly the same @seafrontsky, I emailed mine yesterday to say I'm ready when she is. She'd messaged last week to say hopefully sometime in July so there's a while to go yet unfortunately.

AF arrived at 2am this morning so back to CD1, although this is the first time since MMC in feb that I haven't spotted before AF so I'm hoping things have now settled and gone back to normal. My cycle was 26 days this time, hoping to see a lot of BFPs over the next few weeks x

@Dipsy77 I'm glad AF came so you weren't in limbo amd you had a more regular cycle! That's positive. Here is to a lucky month for you xx

I am now on CD13. I had my static yesterday morning but thinking the peak could have happened late CD11. My BBT this morning is saying that I ovulated yesterday. I usually ovulate CD14 is CD12 too early? In the 12 months I have been tracking I have never ovulated that early.

I’ve found a fertility acupuncturist near me @Hoping41 and @Seafrontsky. He is offering fertility consultation over the phone to discuss everything before treatment can happen so think I will give it a try, to de-stress if anything.

Ladies AF got this afternoon me. I'm not devastated I know it's still early days but it's disappointing isn't it. Straight into a new month so here we go.

It's odd though like my cycles are getting a day or two shorter whilst TTC and they have been 28 days for a year.

Oh @serialplanner I'm sorry to read this today 😩 totally understand the disappointment and I think anyone is lying if they say they don't feel that way.. but this is day 1 of your new cycle so fresh start and July could be your month x

@serialplanner so sorry AF came for you today, I think a combination of everything is probably messing with cycles at the moment.

So so understandable that you're disappointed after all the effort and waiting for a month it sucks to get AF. Here is hoping next month is it for you xxx

@serialplanner sorry the nasty witch AF showed up but like you say, onto the next one! My cycles also seem to be getting shorter the past few months which is odd, just hoping I don't all of a sudden have a really long month.

@Jilly1988 CD12 for O should be fine, I think your luteal phase length is the important bit!

@Seafrontsky how's the temps going? Staying high?

@Jilly1988 I got a peak on CD11 last month and it can vary. I'm intrigued to when I'll get peak this month.
