So I’ve been trying to pin down ovulation this month because I have PCOS and can have cycles anywhere from 18 days to 60 days if I ovulate at all. I have never managed to get a positive OPK but this month I think I have?

I started doing OPK’s on day 14 of my cycle (top test in the photo) and the bottom test is this morning (day 22).... is that positive???

The line is definitely darker, does a positive OPK mean I’m going to ovulate or could it still not result in an egg releasing even if it’s positive?

We’ve been trying almost 2 years, went to the GP for help but we’re told that because I’ve had 2 miscarriages we don’t qualify for any help. I’m also overweight (PCOS) so I’ve gone on a low carb diet which seems to be regulating my periods, albeit a 36 day cycle for the last couple which is a bit long I think?

I think that’s all the info, I think my question is does this mean I’m ovulating successfully this month?

Sorry for the ramble Blush

I’m currently obsessing over these sticks too. That looks either positive or almost positive, unsure based on photo. Is it as dark as control line (one nearest green)? Then it’s positive, meaning there’s sufficient LH to trigger ovulation which likely occurs within 12-36 hours after threshold is reached. But not always. Good to BD to cover bases. Apparently it can sometimes darken if AF is due or in early pregnancy, so they’re the other potential options. I’ve got a blazing dark line and af is due in 2 days approx (cycles range between 38-45 days)

Your bottom one looks almost positive, test 2 or 3 times today. Does look likely you’re going to ovulate and you want to be DTD in the run up to that rather than aiming for that day, you want to the sperm there waiting for the egg. So I’d have DTD yesterday with that reading and have sex today as well

Morning, I'm afraid the advice I was always given was that OPK's are not always accurate for people with PCOS as you LH can rise and fall throughout the cycle and doesn't necessarily mean ovulation. I have PCOS too and never bothered with them, I tried to read my body's natural signals like cervical mucus and position.
Your doctor is incorrect though, I was told the same thing, waited a year after my 2nd miscarriage to speak to gp based on similar advice I'd been told and when my OH spoke to his doctor (same gp practice) to arrange his semen analysis, he was told that we did not need to wait as PCOS is an existing infertility condition. I think you should ask to speak to another doctor and see if they can start the referral process now / asap following the lockdown.

Interesting about the treatment advice being wrong, I’ll follow that up, thank you!
