Opk as pregnancy test.

Hi everyone.
Wondering if anyone can help me. I’m 8 DPO and my OPK have become nearly as dark as the test line and was a little darker today. Has anyone else had this, could it get darker and lead to BFP.

Ah glad someone has experienced the same. It’s still a bit lighter than the test line but when I started taking OPK at the start of the month there was barley a line there until ovulation. So confusing Hmm x

Am also interested in this as I'm experiencing the same.

I'm curious to know whether the OPK test can be used to detect pregnancy earlier than an early detection pregnancy test.

This is the confusion I’m having. I would of thought that the line on the ovulation strip would be very faint at this point in my cycle as I’m due on in 6 days. But it’s getting darker again.

I know they can be used as a pregnant test as with my son I used it and it was very dark but that was when I was 2 days late for AF.

I’ve been googling but keeps coming up with different things. X

From what I've read the OPK test works as a pregnancy test because it can't discern between HCG and LH.

But if the detection level for an OPK is at 20 miu or 25 miu then I can't see how it would appear as positive before a FRER would?

Am still hopeful that my late, dark OPKs are a positive sign though!

Yes I agree with you. Hopefully my line will get darker and lead to BFP but who knows !

Is your line as dark as the test line or not quite yet?

Last month i had a lh surge at 11dpo (got my hopes up!) and af arrived the next day... Everything crossed yours stays dark for a few days xx
Are you able to get a few more hpt?

@Talb93 my line is very nearly the same shade as the test line but not as strong as it was earlier this month. It was the same shade yesterday as well. No idea what it means (if anything at all!)

Same as me then dark but not as dark as rest line. Think I’ll do a few more and see what happens over the next week and then wait to see if AF arrives. I’ve ordered some more tests just incase. X

This is what happened to me last year, I took an OPK every day which always gave me a positive/almost positive result - thought I was having a crazy long surge until suspicion took over and I took a pregnancy test!

My little line on a stick is a gorgeous three month old now. Smile

Can I ask how many days before your period you did the tests? Like i said I am 6 days until AF and for some reason yesterday I took a OPK and was darker than when I began testing at the start of the month. Today it was a bit darker. Little confused x

Omg this is happening to me too! I’m 10DPO and got this today, very dark line. I hope it’s a good sign for all of us xxxx

Ah how exciting for you Smile mine isn’t as dark as that but I’m 8DPO so I’m going to see if it gets darker or not.

@Sophiehannah95 when I got pregnant with my son I used an ovulation strip as a test when I was 2 days late for AF and got a very dark positive, I then confirmed with a pregnancy test. So I do believe they can work to test too x

So this is Saturday, Sunday and Monday (today) what do we think or am I going mad about it being darker than when not ovulating ? Just confusing as I never really get very good lines on them from LH surge x

They can detect pregnancy as they can't tell the difference in Lh & Hcg but you also have a LH surge when af is due so I wouldn't rely on it as it could also mean your period is about to start

@Talb93 I'm not sure those are dark enough tbh. You can also get a small surge before your period is due.
