Hi all,

After a failed first cycle trying for #1, DH and I have added some more supplements. We've been taking the pre-conception multi-vits for a month. We really want may to be our month as June is completely off limits (his sister gets married March next year and he's best man!) so looking for how he can improve sperm quality and I can improve egg quality and all round habitability of my baby oven!

So here's what we've got:

  • pre-conception multi vits
  • CoQ10
  • Omega3
  • Calc. Fluor. 30c (for me only)

Is there anything else we could be doing / taking? I get regular exercise and we are making a conscious effort to clean up our diets this month. I'm vegetarian and he rarely eats meat. Dairy is my vice, he loves sugar and we are both partial to a nice glass of red with dinner!

Any advice at all would be so appreciated. Or just come and have a chat 😘

No advice to proffer, only that some pre-conception vitamins can lengthen the cycle (mine automatically increased by a few days) - might be something to think about since June is off limits.

Wishing you lots of luck this cycle!

I'm just jumping on see the answers... I'm currently taking a B complex, folic acid, calcium and iron, DP isn't taking anything so looking for anything else that works.

I've got some preseed lube this month, but have read really good reviews after buying about conceive plus, did you use any @MrsEmilyB ?

MrsEmilyB · 19/04/2020 19:28

@CaribouCarafe thank you for your input, and luck! My last cycle was a bit shorter than normal at 28 days (which is ideal as my cycle is often around 31-32 days) but I shall absolutely keep an eye!! Any idea why it can lengthen Cycles?

@smileyT hello! What cycle are you guys on? Its a strange old world to navigate, isn't it! We've never used pre-seed lube, so let me know how you get on! We've got 1 more pack of these pre-conception vitamins but if no luck will switch to concieve plus as I've heard lots of good things too!

@MrsEmilyB well we weren't trying (just using the completely unreliable withdrawal method 🤦🏾‍♀️) and I got pregnant in Jan but sadly ended in MC. After that we realised it's what we both really want right now as we'd basically planned out the next 5 years of our lives with a baby. So we had one cycle post MC and just having my first full AF now, CD1, so officially cycle 2. Sorry longest answer to a simple question 😂

Hopefully somebody comes along with the magic formula and we both get our BFPs next month x

CaribouCarafe · 19/04/2020 19:50

@MrsEmilyB From what I've read, it seems that some of the vitamins (e.g. B6 and Vitamin C) that are present in some supplements lengthen the luteal phase. Which can help if your luteal phase is a little short, but is a bit of a bummer otherwise!

MrsEmilyB · 19/04/2020 20:24

@SmileyT - I'm so sorry to hear of your MC - that must be one of the hardest things in the world to go through. I wish you so much baby dust for this cycle 💕🤞 I'm CD1 too, so hopefully we'll be able to walk to our BFPs this cycle right alongside each other!

@CaribouCarafe - ah, that may actually be quite helpful! I tend to ovulate somewhere between day 14 and 18, and then AF starts 10-14 days after, so sometimes my luteal phase can be a bit on the short side!
