TTC having no luck with OPK's

Hi all,

I'm new to this site so first time asking anything.

We've been TTC for 5 months now. I started off just using an app to track ovulation (ovulation calculator) but for 3 months i've also been using OPK's (the clearblue smiley face digitals). I am yet to get a single smiley face. The first 2 months I took 1 a day at around 5pm following the guidelines of holding pee for 4 hours and not drinking too much water.

This month, i've been taking 2, the first around 12:30pm and the second around 8pm. I'm on CD13 now and still haven't had my positive and according to my app I should ovulate tomorrow. Feeling really deflated at the fact i've never got a positive, does this mean i'm not ovulating?

Has anybody had an experience of never getting a positive OPK but still getting pregnant?

Just looking for any opinions or reassurance around the topic.

If I get none this month I may have to go to the Dr for tests (although i'm guessing i'll have to wait a while due to Covid-19)

Thanks in advance ladies!

Me Smile I had really irregular cycles when I came off the pill and tried tracking cm and using OPKs but I never had (or never noticed at least) the typical fertile cervical mucus google tells you about and despite testing twice a day throughout the majority of my cycle I just never had a positive. But I'm 9 weeks pregnant now so something was obviously alright! I've already decided that if/when the time comes for baby 2, I won't bother with OPKs, I was stressing myself out by obsessing over them needlessly. Good luck x

I'm similar. Been using ovulation sticks for 4 months and never had a positive either. Have you been tracking cirvical mucus too? I deffo have 'egg white' just before my flow app thinks I should be ovulating. I've also starting tracking BBT too but the charts are all over the place at the moment - I am think I need to track them for a bit longer.

I used clear blues first thing every morning

@fafi I do track cervical mucus too but mine seems to really vary from day to day. I'd say I do definitely notice slightly more egg whitish mucus around when my app says I should be ovulating, as in it's more clear and gooey than my usual CM, but i'm never sure if it's actually what it should look like.

I have very regular cycles, always between 25-27 days long and my periods come like clockwork so that's the one thing that keeps me thinking positive.

@bluebell94 that's so good to hear, that sounds very similar to my situation! I definitely have changes in my cervical mucus throughout the month but I never notice the "egg-white" mucus in the way its explained.

Congrats on your pregnancy!
