Negative test the day before AF is due

Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been reading a few posts for the past week or so, but thought it was time to write something!

I stopped taking the pill at the end of January, had a 5 week cycle in February then exactly a four week cycle in March. Today is day 27 of April's cycle so, if anything like last month, I'm due AF tomorrow. I've been using flo to track my cycles and DTD twice around the time of ovulation this month.

I'll admit that I've been properly symptom watching for the past two weeks! I had strong headaches for the first couple of days after ovulation then I noticed I've been waking up with a blocked nose every morning for over a week now... but no sign of a cold coming through. Two days ago I started getting cramps (so three days before AF), but only mild. No pain, I can just feel something, mainly on my right side. Before AF I don't usually feel anything, apart from a couple of hours beforehand I do get mild cramps, so this is very different from normal.

So for the past couple of days I've been feeling quite positive and, having read many posts on here of people getting positive test results several days before AF is due, I succumbed and did a clear blue one earlier. Negative.

I'm reaching out to see if anyone has had a negative test result the day before they're due, but were actually pregnant?

Thanks 😊

Hi there, I did get a negative a few days before about 12dpo then a faintest positive the day after AF was due. Been testing every day now and the test line is as dark as the control line. It's so tricky not to test as you see so many posts on here about people getting positives 9dpo. I think you're still in with a chance. Also been reading that the clear blue tests aren't the most sensitive. Wishing you all the best and hope it happens soon for you x

@nat99 thank you for replying and congratulations to you!! I've now ordered a couple of the FRER tests which will arrive tomorrow, so let's see what tomorrow and Monday bring. I won't hold my breath, but it's difficult to not think 'maybe there's a chance'!

Yep! I have a fairly regular cycle and it’s taken until my period is late by at least 4 days before I got a positive on a clear blue test for both DD1(4y) and DD2(4m).

@PrincessSarene oh wow that's interesting to know, thank you! I'll keep a little bit of hope alive then!

Thank you it's still very early days so fingers crossed everything goes ok. Good choice, the FRER's are the most sensitive. Let us know how you get on x
