FRER - Faint pos or evap?!

Hi everyone. I'm 15dpo according to Ovia Fertility, but we've been TTC for 4 years so don't want to get my hopes up. Took a FRER with my FMU this morning and a line came up within 10 minutes. Would you say faint pos or evap?

This is the pic of the rest, I don't know how to upload it!!!

@phoebeleeds ahhh this is so tough as it could be a faint pos but I'd probably expect it to be a bit darker for 15dpo. It doesn't look like it has any colour on the photo but does it in real life? Unfortunately I've had a FRER test that looked like this but it was a bfn. Have you got any other brands of tests? Fingers crossed for you xxx

phoebeleeds · 18/04/2020 13:09

I've only got 2 Clearblue to left so was going to do one in the morn but they're not early response so it's a tricky one! Have ordered some more FRER from Amazon but not due till tomorrow and may not be till afternoon. It did have some colour in real life but was super faint!

I mean there's definitely a line but like the above poster I've had lines like that on frer and not been pregnant which is so annoying especially when they're really clear and pink in real life!

phoebeleeds · 18/04/2020 13:11

@DressingGownofDoom this is the thing that's annoying me most! I don't want to get too hung up on possibly being pregnant but seeing that line has convinced me that I am even though it's super faint...I'm getting so frustrated lol!!

I'd say save your clear blue tests if you got that result on a frer. I got my bfp on a frer 2 days ago at roughly 14 dpo and then went on to do a clear blue and got a 'not pregnant' result, they definitely don't pick up early as other tests which is crappy since how pricey they are & are blue dye tests which i wouldn't recommend for early testing

phoebeleeds · 18/04/2020 15:55

@GeeHO98 thank you so much, yeah I've heard that blue dyes aren't good for early testing because it can be hard to tell if it's a pos or evap. I have some cheap strips coming tomorrow (red dye), 3 clear blues & 2 first response x

No problem. First response & red dye for early testing definitely, I stupidly got some Sainsbury's blue dye tests last month and got lines on 3 tests turned out that they were evap lines even within the time frame I'll never get them again x

I’ll go against the grain. I wont ever buy frer again. I took an frer 14dpo and it was bfn but from the same urine (in a cup)I got a positive with clear blue. 15dpo again I tested 4 times.. 2 clear blue digital week indicators and two frer from two separate packages .. the frer both showed neg and the two clear blue showed BFP 1-2 weeks. 16dpo I bought another 3 frer (I was determined to get my BFP on them lol) but all bfn. But yet again clear blue BFP I’m now nearly 6 weeks pregnant . I have no idea why frer never showed BFP for me as they were all in date and used correctly. After googling I read so many people getting those colourless lines and thinking it was a BFP to get let down. But I’d say wait a few days and tests with a clear blue

Hi All! I'm new here but not to the trying to conceive game. (It'll be a year since we started next month). This was the first month I got anything other than a negative. I felt really off about a week after what I believed to be ovulation. So I tested way earlier than I knew I should. Likely 8DP0. So I tested with a FRP and watched it turn to a double line within a couple of seconds it felt like. I was over the moon but skeptical because it was SO early. I wasn't going to tell the husband just yet but couldn't hold it in. We were both insanely happy. For an entire weekend we thought this was our month. Only to test on Monday to get two BFN. Needless to say there were tears involved.

Now I don't know if it was a bad test or if I had a chemical pregnancy. But based on my extensive internet research (haha), a lot of women have this experience with early tests. I've also seen a lot of recent reports of people having issues with FRP tests. So perhaps there was a bad batch that went out recently? I've also read that the test should be considered void after the indicated amount of time on the instructions has passed. Evaporation etc can cause a faulty response. But you never know...it isn't over until Aunt Flow shows up.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 23/04/2020 17:23

How did you get on OP?

phoebeleeds · 23/04/2020 18:03

@Ghostonthedancefloor still negative :(

OP posts:
Ghostonthedancefloor · 23/04/2020 18:10

Sorry to hear that.

I’m beginning to lose faith in FRER. Yes I know we shouldn’t test too early but when you are getting faint but obvious lines, it messes with you!
I’ve had a few occasions now where I’ve also had a “line” on them only for AF to show up as normal. I’ve had one again today.

phoebeleeds · 23/04/2020 19:06

@Ghostonthedancefloor Well AF still hasn't shown up yet so I don't know if it's down to stress or if I am indeed pregnant and it's too early to show! It's confusing :(

OP posts:
GeeHO98 · 25/04/2020 18:24

@phoebeleeds has AF arrived or did you do a test?

phoebeleeds · 25/04/2020 18:26

@GeeHO98 still hasn't arrived yet but still neg tests!! :-(

OP posts:
GeeHO98 · 25/04/2020 18:35

I'd imagine a positive should be showing by now but you never know & maybe could be an hormonal imbalance or something similar that could be causing delay? I'd ring the doctors if it doesn't show after a month or two and see if they'll give you a blood test, sorry I'm no help

Ghostonthedancefloor · 25/04/2020 21:04

Af arrived for me yesterday a day early.
It’s about the third time I’ve had a “line” on an FRER now and not been pregnant.
I’ll attach a pic to show the latest one. Yes it’s faint, but it’s there.

FRER - Faint pos or evap?!
phoebeleeds · 25/04/2020 22:07

@Ghostonthedancefloor I've had 2 "faint lines" on FRER but they've both been evap lines :(

OP posts:
phoebeleeds · 25/04/2020 22:08

@GeeHO98 thank you for your advice!! I'll just take it day by day :D
