I’m new so probably I’m going to break a mess of posting rules or whatever so sorry in advance but - wtf is wrong with me?!

Information:

  • Removed Paraguard (copper) IUD Mar 16
  • Last period Mar 7-12 (6 days! This is normal for me! I’m ALWAYS 6 days)
  • Positive OPK in Mar 23rd (CD17)
  • Faint lines positive preg tests Apr 7-9
  • Period Apr 10-12 (only 3 days. WHAT? This also killed my positive pregnancy tests, faint as they were. All neg now.)

Okay. So I thought as soon as my period ended I would just use an OPK a day until I hit peak. Pretty sure I had a chemical right before this period which is fine, I knew their likelihood before starting TTC and was more pleased than anything at the proof that I can easily get pregnant, yes? I had abnormal symptoms and such too aside from the faint lines so I’m very sure of this.

Except what I’m not sure about is - I got positive OPK on CD17 last month. This month I got a negative on CD7 (expected) and then a flashing smiley face today CD8?! That’s crazy early. I don’t understand. What’s wrong with me?!

Sorry about your chemical pregnancy. The flashing smiley face indicates a rise in estrogen @SamanthuhMaybe so that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with you. It’s the LH surge (static smiley face) that indicates impending ovulation.

That said, I too had a chemical pregnancy last month, and from what I’ve read your horses can be out of whack for a couple of months afterwards. I’ve read threads of women ovulation v really early and, equally, a week or more after their usual ovulation time. I’ve also read threads from women who didn’t get a positive opk at all the month after their chemical but were temping and had a temp rise which confirmed ovulation had taken place.

For what is worth, for some women, ovulation can vary each month anyway so even putting the chemical pregnancy aside you made not ovulate at the same time each month and that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with you.

Good luck.
