Humour me.

What's the earliest you would test?

And what's the earliest positive you've had?

I'm 7dpo and having to sit on my hands to keep myself from POAS.

I got squinter (can't quite call it a BFP) with DS1 at 8dpo.

1 week after a missed period. Anything else and your just torturing yourself unnecessarily.

I had a clear positive at 9 DPO with my first. I didn't realise I was pregnant with my 2nd.

I would definitely use a FRER early test if your testing early though.

Good luck!

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 07:37

I tested at 7DPO (I think I just wanted to annoy myself because I was in a bad mood) and got nothing. I waited till 10DPO then and got a BFP. I think 10DPO is generally the earliest sensible option, but of course many women will be pregnant but not get a BFP till much later

I did mid afternoon 7 days after my period was due....negative! 3 days later, positive!!

Bienentrinkwasser · 17/04/2020 07:40

I’d be tempted to test early but I honestly think @SkaLaLand is right. There are no benefits to knowing about a pregnancy super early on and it can cause unnecessary stress and heartache.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 09:08

@Bienentrinkwasser of course there’s a benefit to knowing early, like not drinking too much caffeine and not having alcohol? The earlier you know the better if you usually consume both

Nat4392 · 17/04/2020 09:17

Only when AF is due/late. Anything earlier can just cause heartache and it’s not worth it

SanFrancisco49er · 17/04/2020 09:19

After the date your period is due. I know how tempting it is to test early but if you try and get into the mindset of a missed period being your first sign, it's so much easier.

Bienentrinkwasser · 17/04/2020 09:57

@BuffaloCauliflower surely if you are that anxious about alcohol and caffeine (neither of which are going to do any significant damage to a 4 week fetus in usual amounts), you would have cut right down whilst trying for a baby.

Only after you're late.

My dc are older now but all the testing, testing seems weird to me.

If period is late, test. If not, don't. It just creates huge amounts of stress otherwise!

(My dc we're born before internet kits or frer style stuff. You really just had to wait !!)
