BBT rise still only 0.3 almost a week after ovulation? Strange cycle this month. Help?

I've been tracking my cycles (not always bbt) for nearly 2 years. Usually I ovulate day 11 or 12. Oddly this month it was day 17. My opks were all over for a week (also unusual) and I didn't actually see my peak. Usually I get literally a one day surge.

I've attached my chart. Usually my BBT would sit around 36.7 by now? (sometimes it takes a couple of days to increase to that). Obviously I'm nearly a week after that now. Not only that- there have been decreases? So what's going on? Any ideas please?

It’s not unusual for your BBT to rise whilst sleeping, that’s the pattern they’d expect to see. Which temp is more close to you ‘usual’ time of taking it?

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 08:31

@Milkshake54 I would probably say that 5am is closer to normal time. Just confused as I am now 4DPO according to predictions and I haven't yet had a rise in temperature although not sure which ones to count and not count so may have missed it. I have message the NC help desk to see what they suggest ongoing with my sleep problems.

Milkshake54 · 27/04/2020 08:44

@Ltay2 do you think you def have ovulated? Do your track your CM?

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 08:50

@Milkshake54 Yes according to CM I definitely ovulated on the day it's predicted or perhaps the day after. I tracked with OPK's and got a positive test 2 days before ovulation day but then I ran out so I couldn't continue testing to see if the line got darker or went away again. I had definite EWCM on the day of ovulation and had mild ovulation pains, or what I think were ovulation pains as never paid a lot of attention to them before!

Ltay2 · 27/04/2020 08:51

@Milkshake54 Sorry EWCM was the day before ovulation.

paintfairy · 27/04/2020 08:53

I woke at 4am today and didn't sleep properly after. So in couldn't temp today. If you aren't getting a decent few hours solid sleep (they say 4) then the temperature is unreliable. If I wake at 5am (but have slept through) I still use it, as its usually pretty correct and no different to if I'd taken it at 6 or 7. But if you've been on and off sleep wise, it just doesn't work.

Often I'm about 7dpo before I can say for sure I ovulated when I thought I did. I started doing opks as a second indicator.

@paintfairy Maybe I should just stick to OPK and CM tracking and use BBT it and when I can. Just annoying as I have paid £40 annual fee for Natural Cycles app (been using for years successfully for prevention) and now it's not as useful as it's main indicator is temp.

paintfairy · 27/04/2020 09:13

@Ltay2 yes I would. And maybe once you've taken the pressure off, you'll find you sleep better and manage to get more temps than you thought?
I actually seem to wake more in my luteal phase I think. On reflection. I tend to know I have ovulated because before - my temp is usually really stable. Like 36.31. Every day no matter what time. After ovulation I might not get a good reading but it becomes inconsistent. So it's semi helpful. 😂

And I'm still waiting for AF. Getting fed up now.

@paintfairy I'm the same with my temps, always 97.13 F before hand. Strange isn't it! Oh how annoying, do you think there is a chance of you being pregnant?

paintfairy · 27/04/2020 09:41

@Ltay2 if AF hasn't come by tomorrow I might do a test. But we used contraception throughout my fertile window, so theoretically it shouldn't be possible!

@paintfairy Oh even more unusual! I suppose it would be best to test tomorrow just to be sure. I am so tired today and feeling on and off waves of nausea but sure it's way too early to be a sign of anything (only 4DPO) so probably just due to my messed up sleeping patterns.

paintfairy · 27/04/2020 09:49

@Ltay2 yeah I was having a break. Partly because I don't want a December baby, partly because I was stressed and partly due to coronavirus. I was going to try again next month.

@Ltay2 So - I took mine at 4.40 this morning because that's when i woke. Given up trying to go back to sleep. 🤣 But it was still 36.67. Which is what it was the last twice taken at later (but different) times. I think the consistent sleep is definitely more important than the time. Obviously the same time would be ideal like. 🙄

Ltay2 · 28/04/2020 07:30

@paintfairy I didn't get much consistent sleep last night again. Took my temp at around 5.20 after just 2 hours sleep. Losing hope of ever sleeping properly again now 🙈

paintfairy · 28/04/2020 08:57

@Ltay2 that's how it got me. I literally was sleeping for no more than 2 hours at a time. For weeks. I was shattered. I just stopped doing it for a bit. I envy these people who can just not worry about it and sleep perfectly well. 🤣

@paintfairy So annoying 🤣 still can't officially confirm my O day although based on CM I am fairly certain it was the day that was predicted.
