Ttc during pandemic

Hi first time poster.
Ive not found a thread on this and wanted to know if anyone ttc has changed their plans due to covid.
I’m 31 and am ready to ttc for my first, I still want to start but am worried about how the virus will affect care etc. Just wanted to hear others thoughts? Thanks

It could take months to even get pregnant and your first important appointment is at 12 weeks

I wouldn’t delay myself

I say that as a 35 week pregnant woman who had no idea this would happen

You can’t plan for every eventuality.
I don’t regret being pregnant and I know that I will get the care I need should and when I need it.

It may be different and it may be streamlined but I’m ok with that myself

Maybe I would feel differently if it was my first

We still trying but we been trying 3 years so I would tell anyone dont delay wish we started sooner xxx

I personally wouldn’t. The virus hasn’t been around long enough for us to know the effects of a woman contracting it in her first trimester when lots of important fetal development occurs.

It’s more than likely completely fine but it’s a risk that I wouldn’t be prepared to take. I say that as someone who has a DC born with health complications so I am more risk averse over things like this than most.

I'm not sure either. We've already been putting it off for ages and got a feeling it'll take a while anyway. But some of the comments on here (not on this thread) make me feel like a selfish idiot for even considering it. Discussed with DH and we ended up agreeing to wait 3 months and reassess then. At this point I'm just fairly annoyed that we didn't just do it in our 20s, in hindsight!

I have a 3 year old and got pregnant in December. sadly I had a MC on New Year's Day.

We tried in Feb, but put March in hold (I personally didn't want a festive baby, given my OH's festive birthday experience as a child) so we are now debating trying in April.

I'm one for considering all the consequences, health, financial, etc.

Everyone's circumstances are different so if you are in a job where you are confident there will be no long term financial impacts then you might choose to TTC.

I'm on the fence for this month, trying to decide whether to try given the possible health impacts that at the moment are unknown.

We're also putting off trying for a couple of months, then we'll reassess.

We're both in jobs that are currently safe but are increasingly at risk the longer this goes on. Whilst the future is always unknown, it feels a little too unknown for me at the moment!
