Advice Please - Spotting

Looking for some advice please - sorry for the rambling, I just wanted to make sure I include anything that might be relevant.

I came off the minipill on Tuesday last week and started spotting yesterday. It is very very light (only when I wipe - sorry TMI) and brown rather than red. DP and I only DTD on Friday so I’m aware it is far too early and so very unlikely to be BFP related! But I am confused. I was expecting my withdrawal bleed a few weeks after I stopped taking the pill but just wasn’t expecting the spotting.

I have also been feeling extremely tired, have headaches, mild cramps and slightly nauseous. I don’t seem to remember any of these symptoms when I came off the pill to TTC DS. I got pregnant with him very quickly and only took a test because I hadn’t had a withdrawal bleed and my boobs were agony (got my BFP 3 weeks after coming off the pill) - but didn’t have any of the other symptoms til much later.

We have just started to TTC DC2 but I would have no idea when to to take a test (or even if I should yet) as I didn’t have periods whilst on the pill and have no idea when I ovulated. I also only have a digital test at home so it’s unlikely it would pick anything up at this stage. (Although I have ordered some FRER so hopefully they’ll get here in the next few days).

The pill isn’t 100% reliable so there is a chance I could be pregnant already I suppose? I honestly can’t remember when DP and I last DTD (before Friday) due to lockdown merging all days into one in my mind and me being very tired with DS running around all day! I am driving myself mad googling what to expect when coming off the pill and early pregnancy symptoms.

Has anyone experienced spotting within days of coming off the pill? Is there a chance this could be implantation bleeding? Is it just my body readjusting to pill free life? Should I just take the digital test? There are so many questions racing through my mind so I thought I'd ask for advice on here!

Thank you in advance ☺️

I'm no expert and new to this myself as first time TTC this month. I wasn't on the mini pill, I was on the combined pill but my withdrawal bleed came within three days (when it normally did with my combined pill each month). It would be very unlikely for you to be pregnant now and I guess this would be your withdrawal bleed starting. But there is no harm taking a test...

Thanks for coming back to me. Yeah I think it is likely just my withdrawal bleed .. I think I was just expecting more of a period rather than just brown spotting.

I think I might do the digital test tomorrow morning. I'm not sure I can wait until my FRER get here.

I just keep going round in circles though! Telling myself one minute to stop being so bloody stupid and of course there's no way I'm pregnant already (the maths simply doesn't work). And the next minute being like .. but could I be??? 🤦🏻‍♀️

If this is how I start my TTC journey I can only apologise in advance to you lovely ladies of Mumsnet because I fear I may be posting like a mad woman at any sniff of a symptom!

Honestly I'm the same don't worry! When my OPKs started going positive I was like "omg I obviously ovulated earlier and am now pregnant" instead of it being the blatantly obvious answer of me ovulating 😂 I took a test and the big fat negative grounded me a little 😂

Obviously with the mini pill it's different as I believe you still ovulate each month, it's just the mucas which is made thicker? So maybe that's why it's less like a period. My withdrawal bleed was quite similar to a period but think that was cos I was on the combined pill!

Fingers crossed you get your positive soon 🤞🏻

Thank you! Well there was no need to test this morning as withdrawal bleed well and truly showed up.

Hopefully I can get into regular cycles soon and be able to properly TTC!

Good luck to you too x
