When can I start trying again?

Hey! I'm going through a miscarriage at the moment and wanted to know when I would take the first day as my cycle.
I started spotting (brown) on the 3rd April and had an early scan on the 8th, before my scan I noticed the brown turning red.
The scan apparently showed a flutter of a heartbeat (I was 5 weeks 6 days), but I had already started bleeding very lightly after the scan. The full flow came the day after and I passed the gestational sac.
I had mentally prepared myself for this to happen so as much as it still hurts, I feel I'm able to carry on and try again. They say you can ovulate up to 2 weeks after a miscarriage. But would I take the first day of the brown spotting as cycle day 1 or when the red flow hit on the Thursday?
Any advice would be great, thank you! X

Hello. So sorry for your loss. I am in the same boat. Had a miscarriage at around 5 /6 weeks at the end of March. I bleed heavy for a week and now we're straight back on ttc. I've found that my cycle is slightly longer. I track on OPK and normally start showing high fertility on day 15 of my cycle and ovulate on day 19. This time, my high days started on day 19 and I'm hoping to show peak tomorrow or Monday, which would be around day 21/22. I've found the same normal symptoms of ovulation (EWCM etc) so I'm hoping that all is back to normal. I counted the first day of my MC as day one of this new cycle. Fingers crossed for us both xxx

Aw sorry you went through it too! Life can be so cruel 😔 because I started with the spotting for nearly a week and now into a flow I might start texting mid next week roughly just so I'm sure I won't miss it.
TMI but did you pass the sac? I passed a sac and then last night passed some tissue I'm assuming. Not in a great deal of pain anymore, just a few tweaks and twinges. Bleeding is starting to calm down now, but still very much fresh. Xxx

@sho2207c I'm so sorry for your loss. I've just been through a TFMR and over 6 weeks on I'm still bleeding, quite heavily and with clots at times. I am desperate to try again soon too. Our bodies need to recover, they won't ovulate until all the uterus lining is out of our body and the hormones have regulated again. Some women only bleed for a short amount of time, others for weeks.
If you say you want to start testing mid next week please keep in mind that LH test can show positive because of the remaining HCG in your urine. I've been doing a few pregnancy tests and mine still show positive. I was 14 weeks so further along what will obviously make a difference to my hcg levels so hopefully yours will drop quicker. It might be worth doing a (sensitive and good) pregnancy test in a week or two, once that is negative you can start using OPKs and be sure it's the LH and not the HCG building up if that makes sense? I hope things calm down for you quickly and you can get back to ttc asap.

I’m going through the same thing (Was only 5/6 weeks) and just coming to the end of bleeding, very light but still there. Plan to start trying again once I stop bleeding but won’t track again properly till after my first period so taking it easy this month xx

I had a loss at a similar time last November, and only bled the same as a normal period so was over quite quickly. We decided to let a whole cycle happen before trying again to make sure my body was recovered, due to the time of year we ended up waiting another over Christmas as well as I wanted to just have a drink and not worry about it happening again at Christmas. Got BFP start of March.

But I would say wait for a whole cycle if you can so you know what your body’s doing

Thanks everyone, the bleeding has really calmed down now. Barely there when I wipe so I'm assuming it's coming to an end. I spoke to my epu as I had a scan booked in for the 22nd and they want me to do a test on the 20th to make sure it's negative then I can cancel the scan.
I've decided I'm not gonna start using opks but I probably will get back to dtd with my partner once I know for sure I'm not bleeding anymore.
Gonna take it easy until I get my next flow. X
