Does anyone know why my cycles are so short and can anyone give any advice on how to get them to be longer?? Literally ranging from 18 to 25 days. Feel like I'm never ever going to conceive feel so depressed

I have cycles around 25 days @queenqueenqueen are you tracking ovulation (I used opks and bbt) I usually ovulate on cd10/11.

We've paused ttc for now, but what worked for us (had 3 mcs) is doing the deed every other day up to cd 18.

I'm terms of lengthening cycle length I've read about vitamin b but I haven't done that - I think that's more for extending the luteal phase though.

Ahh hi, thanks for you reply. So sorry to hear about your mcs I had one and that was bad enough so can only imagine what you have gone through ☹️ are you stopping because of all the covid stuff? Cos I know what you mean but TBH I'm not even sure I ovulate which is why I'm planning on starting to track I reckon by the time I've got my head round it all it should be a couple of months at least?

Hi @queenqueenqueen, yes because of the virus our recurrent miscarriage clinic is closed, so I won't get the additional care I need, so reluctantly were pausing for now. It's bloody hard though.

If you can track your cycle I'd recommend it. I use the cheap ovulation tests from amazon, starting at cd8, twice a day (after 2pm). Usually get the positive cd10 or 11. Doing my bbt first thing each day confirms ovulation for me. You need a thermometer up to 2 digital points and I used fertility friend to enter it - very basic but it does the job :) good luck.

The vitamin b's in pregnacare conception are supposed to lengthen cycles for a lot of women. I'd also look into agnus castus which is meant to help regulate female hormones and again will help lengthen your luteal phase.

If you have a short follicular phase then that's more tricky I think - I haven't got a clue what to do then!

queenqueenqueen · 12/04/2020 18:57

Thanks for that - think I'll order some 0f the pregnacare conception and will google angnus castus

Heard of luteal phase but will google follicular phase - as have no idea about that!!

It's just the first half! Basically if the time between your period and your ovulation is too short then you're realising immature eggs that won't be viable for conception.

queenqueenqueen · 12/04/2020 20:37

Well I definitely think I have one of those problems! 😔 will look into this agnus castus
