Hi @CoronaBaby! Happy to explain the charting. I'm a scientist by day so couldn't help but get into the nitty gritty data! :-D
I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and HIGHLY recommend it. I discovered so much I didn't know about my body and I thought I was pretty well clued up!
Since reading that I've started charting the following
LH levels (via cheap paper ovulation predictor kits once or twice a day)
Basal Body Temperature (digital thermometer at 5am everyday and then go back to sleep)
Cervical mucus (check before or after I go to the loo)
Cervical position (same as above)
Any other symptoms - cramps, headaches
Sex!
Sounds like a lot of tracking but I'm in a routine with it already. Tracking a range of stuff is helpful because each piece of info only gives you part of the picture i.e. LH levels peaking suggests that your body is gearing up for ovulation but you may not ovulate that cycle, egg white slippery cervical mucus will tell you that you are around the time of ovulation, BBT will confirm that you have indeed ovulated.
Some people hate tracking or find it stressful but it suits me and my nature. If it's your kind of thing then I defnitely recommend that book - so much info in their and all better explained than I can :-)
Good luck ladies still on for May!
