Hi all. First time mumsnetter here. Me and DP have made the decision to TTC in the coming months. Stopped my pill earlier this week.
I have active Crohn’s disease, although not in a flare up. Anyone else in or been in a similar position? Would be good to share experiences. I’m extremely anxious and excited all at once! Grin

Hi there.

I also have active crohns. I am currently almost 41 weeks pregnant. Happy to answer any questions.

This is second baby (didn’t have crohns with first). I would say it has been a lot different From pregnancy without but I’m not sure how much is down to crohns or just a different pregnancy.

I’d say the one thing I didn’t expect was how long it took to get pregnant this time but again, not sure if that is due to crohns or not.
It took 9 months, which in the grand scheme of things isn’t long but last baby took 2 months.

I ended up having blood taken and self medicating with different vitamins and became pregnant a month later (I am a nurse, so fairly confident with self prescribing).

Congratulations on decision to ttc!
