Sorry I haven't tried it yet but very interested in any answers to this too. Hopefully someone will come along x

Hello. I’m TTC #2 and have been battling a short luteal phase. It was stubbornly 8days (one month 7days) and after starting Agnus castus it moved to 10 days though back to 9 last month. I also take but b6 after ovulation but that didn’t seem to do much without the AC.
Also had a blood test to confirm low progesterone and it was borderline at 25. That said I’ve since discovered I should have been tested later (I was only 4dpo).
So I guess I would said there has been a bit of an improvement but not a miracle cure!

I'm trying it. This will be my second month. Just entering LP now so I'll let you know! I'm also taking b vits though.

orangeloo · 10/04/2020 10:54

Thanks so much for input @paintfairy & @Kitte321 please keep us posted. Did you find it changed your cycle in any other way at all? I have heard reports of it messing it up completely. But apparently you need to try it for at least three months.

I tried it for 4 months. Along with B6, B complex, C and progesterone cream in LP. My LP has gone from 7-9 days (first few cycles of implant out) and now I get 9-10 days max. I had my progesterone levels checked and even using the progesterone cream the highest level I've had is 19.

I don't think any of the supplements have altered my luteal phase at all. I think it's just from time and my hormones are slightly regulating. I had 2 months off all vitamins and my LP is exactly the same

paintfairy · 10/04/2020 11:13

I've ovulated later this month. No idea if that's got anything to do with what I'm taking, the progesterone cream I used last month or the stress of lockdown. But it'll be interesting to see how my LP is and also what happens next month.

orangeloo · 26/04/2020 10:39

@paintfairy how did you get in this month? Did it lessen spotting?

I've taken Agnus Castus for the first time this cycle because I've got a short LP. I'm about 7 dpo now and I've not got sore boobs at all which I would normally have by now. It is supposed to help with PMS symptoms like this so I'm assuming it's working in such shape or form. Really hoping it'll lengthen my LP this month at least

paintfairy · 26/04/2020 12:06

@orangeloo nope. 😂 its worse than ever. Been bleeding since Monday and it's not even light. Although this cycle has been bonkers so I'm not sure if it's a fair assessment.

orangeloo · 26/04/2020 12:10

Thanks @Lilyduke keep us updated. Oh no @paintfairy I'm sorry to hear that. How long have you been taking it now?

OP posts:
paintfairy · 26/04/2020 14:51

@orangeloo this will have been my second month on it.

orangeloo · 27/04/2020 10:45

@paintfairy ah okay thats so annoying although I've done a fair bit of research on Vitex and it is normal to mess up a cycle even If it's working. Almost like it's resetting things and should be taken for at least three months so the the fact you've come this far. Personally I would hang in there and review next month.

paintfairy · 27/04/2020 10:50

@orangeloo ah ok. Could be then.

Lilyduke · 30/04/2020 13:10

No improvement in my cycle length this time unfortunately :( Going to start a high dose version tomorrow up until ovulation so fingers crossed it might do something this time.

Beau20 · 30/04/2020 19:58

@Lilyduke that's really annoying :( just out of interest, what contraception were you on before and how long have you been off?

Lilyduke · 30/04/2020 20:08

I had three lots of the implant for 9 years I total and then 2/3 years of the pill before that. I had it removed in October last year. Had three or four months were we have properly tried now.

Beau20 · 30/04/2020 20:12

I had the implant out in September. My luteal phase for the first 6 cycles was 7-8 days and only 23 day cycles. I'm now up to 26-28 day cycles for the last 2 with a luteal phase of 10 days before I start spotting and then AF 11-12DPO. I'm not sure if it was all the vitamins I took for 6 months or just time that's slowllyyyy regulating me but I've not taken a single vitamin (other than soy) the last 2 cycles and those are the 'best' 2 I've had. The implant is a killer because I never had this problem before! I used to ovulate CD13-14 now it's CD16-18. I actually had my bloods done due to 2 chemicals and I have low progesterone (cause of short luteal phase) but nothing can be done for another 3 months

Hang on in there and hopefully things start to regulate soon!

Lilyduke · 30/04/2020 22:21

I'm nearly always a 28 day cycle (apart from one at 35 and one at 27 days). I've not actually taken it too bad today thankfully, I'm ready for the next cycle. I also took high dose vit b6 for some of last month so I'm going to take for all of this cycle and see if it helps alongside the Agnus Castus

paintfairy · 01/05/2020 07:35

I was on the progesterone only pill. I wonder if that's the issue? Implant is the same concept. Been off it almost 2 years now though.
