Will gp surgery remove my implant?

Hi just wondering if anyone here has recently had a contraceptive implant removed for ttc? I want to get my implant removed but appointments at gp surgery are obviously restricted at this time and wondering if I will be able to get it done there?
Thanks for reading.

I had mine removed and replaced 3 weeks ago. Can you phone to surgery to ask?

Pippioddstocking · 03/04/2020 14:55

Our surgery wouldn't do this at present as it's an unecessary ( as in life not at risk) contact between you and your GP putting you both at risk at this present time.

Probably not as it's not an urgent medical need

For the sake of everyone just wait

PainauChocolat12 · 03/04/2020 15:19

My surgery won’t do this at the minute unless it’s a serious risk to leave it.

Thanks for your replies. I am going to wait a while.

Depends on your surgery. I've had one in/out several times and only had it out once at my GP surgery. The rest have been at a family planing clinic. I've still been having fertility bloods done but they had no face to face standard appointments so possible someone could still do it. Depends on how they are dealing with things local to you though.
