LH strip tested +

This morning my LH Strip gave it’s first faint-ish line positive. I’ve been testing daily since 2nd last day of period.
Unfortunately I won’t get many chances to try, so will I try tonight / tomo night or at the wknd?
When do I have sex?
22/3/20 - 26/3/20 period
2/4/20 first + LH strip

Help!!

Just wanted to check as you say faint positive, do you mean that your strip is showing one bold control line and one faint test line, or two bold lines?

GGRM · 02/04/2020 12:43

Yes, control line dark purple and the Lh test line a weaker colour purple. I know from previous months this can get darker.
How can I add a photo?
Tkx for you’re reply.

A faint line on LH test is not positive, both lines should be the same colour or the test line even slightly darker x

NannyPear · 02/04/2020 12:50

Keep testing daily. Once it starts getting darker you might want to test twice daily to catch the surge. As previously said, the line needs to be the same strength or darker than the control line. What cycle day are you and and how long are your cycles usually?

willithappen · 02/04/2020 13:13

I've added a photo of my tests so you can see. The dark ones are positive ones. I use an app called PreMom also which helps by reading the test.

Just wanted to give you a photo as I know I found it hard myself to gauge when I actually had positive ones. Make sure your urine isn't diluted when you test also. Usually around three hours before you test, don't drink anything and don't go to the toilet and it will give you your best result if you are due to get a peak :)

You've had some great replies since I asked that. I also used premom. I can't really suggest when to start dtd just yet because some people go from faint to dark really quick and some people stay faint for weeks (like me!). Once mine started progressively getting darker I would try dtd every other day then when it was peak I would try every day for 3 days. Good luck!

Thank you bluebell. So that’s the start of the LH positive eg in a few hours it will be darker?

Willithappen! Omg that’s a lot of confusion!! I’m struggling too read the tests (I think) 🙄
Currently my control line is darker than. The test line. Which as I said in original post, both would appear same colour.
I think what I’m looking at with mine is, that start of a positive test.
But when do you DTD?? Is it pre post or during the LH + test?? Thats where I’m boggled .

Thank you

@GGRM it can still take a couple of days before hit the peak surge. Once the line gets a bit darker you may wanna start testing twice a day (eg lunch time and evening - never first morning wee) so you don't miss the peak. Once your test line is as dark or darker than the control you'll have hit peak LH, which means you'll ovulate within the next 24-48h. Carry on DTD in the meantime, but def DTD for 2-3 days in a row once you hit peak.

GGRM · 02/04/2020 16:17

Thank you all.
I’m getting anxious at this stage! I’ve been testing once daily, usually at 12pm. from today onwards il test twice daily.

DTD is the issue, getting the logistics right 😢
Thank you

Bear in mind that if you drank lots of water beforehand or hadn't held your wee for long enough (min 2h) then it can dilute your result as well.

Fingers crossed you get your peak! I know it's frustrating, I completely missed mine last month and so now that I'm testing I'm worried I wont get the hang of it this month either! Annoyingly on my first cycle I hit the jackpot on my first test strip so it all seems so haphazard.

willithappen · 02/04/2020 16:43

Search up SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) which advises that from day 10 (I think of remembering correct) dtd every other day until you get positive ovulation test. When you get positive test dtd three days in a row, skip a day and then dtd again.

GGRM · 02/04/2020 22:47

@Juno231 that’s exactly how it’s been for me!! I also had Cold coagulation in late December. Coil removed January.
Just feel hopeless 😩
@willithappen unfortunately it’s a “pick a day” situation rather than whenever we want x
That’s why I’m looking for the best day for DTD
Thx
