Hi all,

Does anyone have any side effects from taking myo-inositol?

I have taken the recommended 4000mg, but found that it has caused me to feel dizzy and given me a headache/increased pressure around my eyes.

Has anyone taken less than the 4000mg, and found it to be successful? Or found a way to stop rubbish side effects?

Thanks!

I haven't. It's a vitamin (a B vitamin) Your body will pee out what it can't process. Try stopping and seeing. I'm how long have you been taking it? They suggest you need to take it for 6 months before you get much benefit

Hey, thanks for the reply. I took it before for around 2/3 days and then it happened. I stopped for about 8 months, then started again today. It happened again by mid afternoon.

I can only suggest you don't take it then really I'm afraid but despite taking weeks to research before I started taking it around a year ago, I'd not heard of this reaction before. If you do want to take it why don't you start off with a smaller dose? Good luck.

That was my question, I was wondering if people had taken a smaller dosage and found it to be helpful.

There could potentially be other reasons behind it but I am just looking for someone who may be able to answer the above.

Thanks for your help though!

I guess it depends what people were taking it for to determine if they found it helpful in small spears? What are you taking it for? Some take it for energy, I'm taking it to try and reduce my cycle length. It's hard to determine if taking any dose has reduced my cycle (my cycle has reduced) or is this attributed to me being off the pill longer, my hormones regulating, being less stressed? I don't know. There doesn't appear to be many scientific studies to answer your question but fertility doctors suggest 4g which is a much more enhanced dose. Try it and see. What works for one won't work for another. It's obviously not agreeing with you at that dose if you are having those symptoms. Hopefully others can reply on their experience but good luck

Hi @PT8998, I have been taking 2000mg a day together with folic acid for the last two years and never had any side effects. I hope you find out what is causing your problems.
