Recurring UTI while trying to conceive?

Hi all, is there anybody who could give me some advice? Im almost 39 and this is our 2nd month trying, I had chemical pregnancy the first month and at the same time had my first ever UTI ( given Antibiotics for a week) now, second month trying and I have yet again UTI ( I am 2dpo today) I have no idea what's going on or how will this affect my chances of getting pregnant? We have 2 older kids ( 12&10) but would like to add another one to our brood, I was lucky in previous pregnancies, fell pregnant straight away and never had any UTI, but now being 39, I feel like it won't be easy and I haven't got a clue why I keep getting UTI all of a sudden? Is it even possible to conceive with constant UTI and taking antibiotics? ,Sad

It might be the same UTI as last month but it didn't go completely.

You need to practise excellent sex hygiene. Both wash before sex and you go for a wee and shower immediately afterwards.

Look at probiotics to clear through the effect of the antibiotics, stop sugar, grains and dairy for a while to reduce the inflammation.

Thank you, do you know if UTI affects conception chances? I'm currently 2dpo, so wonder if there's even a chance of being pregnant of I've had UTI all this time 😭

It is still possible... but you stand the best chance if you are healthy.

When I was doing IVF I was prescribed a complete screen of everything before the treatment (various swabs and cultures) because they said any infection could cause a miscarriage, even asymptomatic ones.
I wasn’t in the UK and I’m guessing you won’t get this on the NHS. And also it’s probably not possible now even privately.

Thank you, I had swabs done for infections and STD and all because of my earlier chemical pregnancy as I wanted to make sure there's no uterine infection that cou have caused it, but all came clear, apart from the UTI, which I think is caused by increased sexual activity as it always happens after my fertile window 🤦‍♀️ We will increase all the stuff suggested like pre sex/post sex showers and wee before and after, I've also ordered D-mannose supplements to take as a prevention, fingers crossed we can tackle this 🤞
