Possible secondary infertility

Hi ladies,
Have been trying to convince baby2 for nearly a year (I appreciate to some that's not a long time). Fell pregnant with my daughter with one BD on the first cycle in 2017. A couple of year prior also fell pregnant whilst on the injection which resulted in ectopic. Had numerous test done. First lot of 21 day bloods were only 27.4 second lot 31.8. FSH is looking normal although AMH was very high indicating pcos. However had a scan done before the bloods and everything looks normal. Awaiting my second app at clinic which will now have to be done by phone call. Had to loose some weight to be able to have HSG so waiting for next app then will do HSG more 21 day bloods and will check OH. Anyone have any success stories or advice? Really struggling atm. Had at least one person fall every month since we have been trying, really getting the better of me emotionally. X

Hi there. I have been ttc baby no 2 for 11 months. I have had blood tests and scans, both came back normal. Because of my age the fertility clinic suggests ivf as an option or keep trying. Being 38 i know time is not in my side but considering the clinics have put all their appointments and treatments on hold anyway I might as well keep ttc the natural way. Currently taking seven seas trying for a baby tablets. How old is your first child? My dd is 3

Sorry to hear that. It's so tough isn't it. I find people almost make me feel guilty. 'least you have one', all coming from people that have never experienced any problems and are on there 2nd or 3rd. I know I'm so so blessed to have her but can't help but feel like something is missing from our family. God I have been taking loads of stuff but not going to buy anymore. She is 2. So you have already discussed IVF ect? I have just turned 30 so I know time is on my side in that way. I had just never heard of secondary infirtility till all this x

I had secondary infertility. I have polycystic ovaries and I charted which showed super long cycles but also a short luteal phase. I attended the infertility clinic but had to lose some weight to qualify for treatment. With a prescription for metformin and then clomid I was able to conceive my son. It took a while but I got there. So there is hope

I've been off contraception for 12 months also but tracking for 8 months. I have a son who is 8 and I was pregnant before that, conceived super quickly. My OH had his sperm tested all normal and I had bloods and a scan no problems.. My cycles are 28 day and ovulate on cd15 like clockwork.. I'm even the healthiest I've ever been albeit 8 years older (27) so I'm just as baffled as the next person and seriously getting fed up :( x

Secondary infertility here. We had all the tests after a year and turned out to be male factor. We had no problems conceiving our first so it was a shock.
DH took some supplements and got super healthy and just when we had accepted that was probably it, that we didn’t want ICSI, I go pt pregnant.

A year isn’t actually that long. Good luck.

I had secondary infertility. It took a year to conceive my first and well over two years for my second. I found it much harder second time round, for all sorts of reasons.

I found out I was pregnant as I was about to give up trying, I was so upset with the monthly disappointment and tears and frankly huge jealousy of the happy families I saw.

Not all endings are happy and we were incredibly fortunate, but I took some comfort from stories here during that time.

I was on cycle 13 when I fell pregnant with DC2. DD was an unexpected arrival as I was on the pill and I had a chemical pregnancy after the first cycle TTC DC2 so I honestly thought I would conceive quicker than that. I’m now 15 weeks pregnant.

Hi @Supergirl15, hang in there. DH and I have been ttc #2 for over 2 years. I’d had blood tests and a scan but my GP said he needed further tests, which were then cancelled due to the current pandemic. So was feeling astonishingly shit this month. Got a bfp today. Don’t know if it’ll stick or not, but I thought it might give you some hope that even if there are some medical issues, and even if you’ve been trying for ages, sometimes a bit of luck comes your way.

Awesome!!! I'm so happy to hear that, love hearing these stories. Gives me hope but very glad people are getting there happy ending!!!! I have a phone call app which was meant to be my second app with consultant due to the pandemic but presume they won't be able to do other tests ATM.
