My OH and I have been ttc for 11 months now I am 38, OH is 43 and DC is 3 years old, so I'm feeling the pressure as I am getting older and the gap is getting bigger too. We have tried dtd every day, every other day and smep, we just don't know what else to try. I have been to a fertility clinic and have blood tests and a transvaginal scan which showed in ovulating and have a normal follicle count. So why is the second time round of ttc for another baby so hard!?

They say we produce less eggs as we age so that may be a factor. Also apparently, fertility starts declining from age 35. Good luck on your journey

If you are over 35 and ttc longer than 6 months the GP will begin investigations. X

Has your husband been checked too? At 43 he likely has reduced sperm count/motility 😕

@HopefulHarry I'm sorry I must have been distracted and I didn't read your post properly at all! Please ignore my comment above.

I am 37, have 3 DC and I wanted to try for one more. With the first 3 (as well as two other pregnancies which I lost) I always got pregnant really easily and quickly -the first cycle trying. This time we were on cycle 4 ( which sounds like nothing I know but it wasn't my past experience) and no joy so I tried Vitex Agnus Castus and on the 5th cycle I'm now pregnant. I have also used VAC in the past when I had prolonged spotting after stopping breastfeeding my second and it stopped the spotting and the same month I accidentally conceived my third baby. Both times may have been a coincidence but I know others have used it and had good experiences. It's a herbal tablet, anything is worth a try imo, especially if it's not expensive or invasive. Good luck x

I second the Agnus castus supplement.

Also, have you tried the temping method? How long is your luteal phase?
