Hi everyone,

I'm turning 37 in May. I am TTC no.2. DD is 18 months. I had a MMC at 12 weeks in February.

We would like to have a another baby asap, due to my age, worry of more miscarriages and we would like a close age gap.

However with the current pandemic I am concerned about putting additional strain on the NHS. I am not concerned about the virus harming the baby as I am happy to totally isolate.

Does anyone here work for the NHS. I would really love your opinion.

Many thanks!

My partner is an hematologist (blood tests & transfusion). The NHS was already stretched to the edge ... Now, they don't even have masks, and we are at the beginning of the pandemic.

Their greatest fears is if the virus comes back next winter. They will likely be physically, morally and materially exhausted!

Thanks Jam85. Are you holding off too?

Hi :) I will be 36 this year, desperately wanting to try for number 2 and started the process this month. Pretty sure it’s not happened this month and if that’s the case we will hold off for three months. I am far too anxious to cope very well being pregnant during a pandemic but that’s just my personality. We will be so much clearer in a few months what’s happening/where things are going so might be an idea to pause temporarily. Good luck!

We were to start trying this month but are holding off for a while as I dont want to burden the NHS and neither do I want the anxiety and stress. It is not an easy decision to make, particularly as I have PCOS and my DS is almost 3 so the age gap is getting bigger and bigger. But, right now, I feel it would be irresponsible.

@MyBabyBoyBlue yes that is my thought too. I am kinda thinking (hoping) by January next year there should be a vaccine/treatment so might go for it in a couple of months.
