Hello i am new to mumsnet so I apologise if I sound stupid!!
I haven't had a period for about 5 months, when I first missed a period I did 2 pregnancy tests, both were negative but 5 months on i am having alot of lower abdomen pain and a friend asked if i was pregnant, obviosly I thought it was impossible seeing as I haven't had any periods but I have now taken 2 tests and both are positive! Can it be possible? Am going to the doctors but cant get an appointment for a few days and it is driving me mad. I should point out that i thought my lack of periods were due to me being overweight. Would appriciate any input. Thanks.

could you have done your first tests a little early?

bobsmum · 10/09/2007 19:52

You can get false negatives on a test, but positives tend to be exactly that! Congratulations! Hope all goes well for you!

well when you first miss a period it can be hard for a test to pick up but the further along you get the easier it is. You can't usually get a pos on a test if you're not pg, so you probably are. How late were you when you tested???

Thank you for answering. I know I sound silly but coz of lack of periods I wasnt sure it was even possible to get pregnant, obviously i am very naive
