My cervical mucus does not seem to change.

I had an ectopic pregnancy in December. We have been trying for another but I do not seem to have any fertile cervical mucus. It is clear and has the consistency of a moisturiser, or is white. I am freaking out that I won’t be able to have another baby. I am 36.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have no advice to offer, just wanted to say I’m in the same boat. I don’t think I’ve ever had EWCM, it’s always white & the consistency of a thin hand lotion, never clear. I’ve been taking EPO & drinking decaf green tea but haven’t noticed any difference yet. I’m wondering if that’s the problem that it’s toxic & killing off all the sperm. Although I have read that you don’t always see it externally, it could just stay around the cervix, I don’t check my cervix to know. I’d say if it’s clear & consistency of lotion that’s pretty good.

Thank you. It used to change. I also think you can so things to help it along. The doctor can prescribe things maybe? I check my cervix.

That is exactly how I would have described mine too, I never noticed ewcm even though I looked for it constantly! And never got a positive opk, long and horribly irregular cycles. But now pregnant so something has gone right! Have you tried preseed or anything? I've seen people on here have good results with that or similar lubricants, that was going to be my best thing to try x

bluebell94 · 22/03/2020 16:28

I mean next thing, not best thing (typo)

Ivybutterfly · 22/03/2020 16:34

Thank you Bluebell. I will try that. My periods have been regular. So hopefully that is a good sign.

I don’t really know what else can be done to help really. My cycles are like clockwork, I use OPKs & temp so know I ovulate. I’ve tried preseed but then stopped as I’ve never needed to use anything like that before. Who knows

EWCM is clear, isn't it? The name is confusing but I think it refers to uncooked egg white, which is clear.

CeibaTree · 22/03/2020 16:51

Robitussin (the cough medicine) has an active ingredient that helps with cervical mucous. If you google it there will be better explanations than I can give :)

CoalCraft · 22/03/2020 17:01

Just a warning, I'm sure Robitussin can be used just fine for cm but might be worth taking to your doc as it can be addictive

sh84 · 22/03/2020 17:06

I’ve heard of Robitussin but haven’t research too much, along with royal jelly. I’ve noticed a very slight increase in CM since taking EPO but no change to the consistency, I’m only taking 1500mg a day, thinking of upping it to 2-3000

Ivybutterfly · 22/03/2020 17:14

It is not stretchy though.

Thank you for responses everyone.

Hey 👋 I’m in the same boat too. I saw this really informative video on YouTube and am going to give a couple of things a go as I definitely relate to what she says.

sh84 · 22/03/2020 20:10

I’ve watched a few of her videos. I take omega 3 & vitamins, I’ve drank grapefruit juice, don’t drink or smoke, only drink decaf, healthy weight, could probably drink more water tbh, gut health is good I think. Still no difference

Ivybutterfly · 22/03/2020 20:51

Thank you so much for sharing that video. ❤️❤️

I kept looking at my CM when I was ttc but never noticed barely any difference - maybe one day more jelly like if I convinced myself. I'm now pregnant so I don't think it's the be all or end all!

Ivybutterfly · 24/03/2020 17:30

Thank you. I will try to stop worrying.
