A really dumb question about cramps...

What do they feel like?

I know this sounds super silly, but I've been really lucky my whole life in never having any cramping or pain during periods (or withdrawal bleeds when on the pill), most I've ever had is a sort of mild discomfort, and now when people say about looking out for ovulation cramps, implantation cramps... I feel like I don't know what I'm looking out for. I do get random mild pains in my abdomen from time to time but frankly i've always thought they were gas...

So question is, what do cramps feel like, where are they (high, low, back, front... I know they're usually to one side) and how can you tell them from little intestinal niggles? Is it just a case where if you get one, you know?

Sorry I feel like such a plonker asking this as a 25 year old woman 🙈
