Clear blue digital advanced can be wrong!

After having a lot of faith in clear blue digital ovulation tests having conceived my daughter using them and my mmc I've been using these again to ttc. I ovulate on day 14 usually so I was pretty surprised when on day 12 with a new holder there was no flashy face, day 13 ( yesterday) no flashy face so I dug out an old holder ( which clear blue say are fine to use) and tested it with the same urine and got a flashy face. This morning day 14 I tested the same urine with the two holders. New holder gave me the blank circle ⭕️ old holder changed to static smiley. I have all the tell tale signs of ovulation today so I'm pretty sure the old holder is correct. Weird!

I agree with this, the month i conceived i had the blank circle so no flashing or static at all on mine. However the cheapie ones were saying it was time. I just wish i never spent so much cash and time hung up on them when cheapys are as good. Easier said than done at the time though

@mrsc1987 I've always been really impressed with them and it's nice to see the definite smiley face but clearly you can get the odd faulty one

You can't swap holders mid cycle - they are designed to reset once it detects a peak and they compare tests to the previous ones looking for changes in estrogen and LH levels - I believe it's looking for a reading 5 times that of the previous test strip

The only way to be a bit more certain of whether the holder is a duff one is to use them alongside the cheap test strips

My ivf clinic won't let me use the digital ones and I used them religiously for years previously as they are well known to detect LH surges a bit later than the cheap strips and because they are so expensive people only tend to test once a day when really they should test twice a day

I didn't swap holders mid cycle. I used two alongside each other with the same urine @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted. Double checked with a cheap strip test as well

You shouldn't use a new reader. The reader gets to know your cycles so you are better just using the new sticks from the new pack but keeping with your original reader. Good luck!
