What healthy things should we be doing with TTC?

I know it might seem obvious but I thought it would be good to share some healthy choices we should be doing whilst TTC and continue on with pregnancy.

This is my first month TTC and I'm thinking of what I should consider doing differently.

I already workout 3-5 times per week. I've recently got back from our weddingmoon so I need to curb the alcohol now. I'm also wondering if I should reduce my caffeine intake? I currently have two coffees in the morning and a tea in the afternoon.

What else would you suggest?

I'm the same this is my 4th cycle and going for it this month!!

I'm veggie so been doing lots of research on foods to eat. Stocked up yesterday on some Greek yoghurt, sunflower seeds, carrot and grapefruit juice, broccoli etc. Also B12s and the usual folic acid.
Would love to hear some tips also, good shout on this thread!

Does anyone know much on risks of Soy? Thinking of cutting down

Oh and also alcohol, I do like a glass or two to relax over the weekend but should we be cutting out all together?!

Take folic acid, vit D, have sex twice a week.

That's it.

Don't make too many changes as it can stress you out and stress, is bad for conception.

It might also take months or years so try not to make it the focus of your life

Dh and I are introducing a bit more fruit and veg into our cooking (diet was pretty unhealthy before if I'm being honest)

Butterflyflower1234 · 09/03/2020 13:22

@bingbangbing Why sex only twice a week? We've been at it once or twice a day the week leading up to ovulation and including the dy afterwards too.

Additionally, I'm trying to do some fertility yoga poses every morning. I have heard that some of the poses relax the muscles around uterus and promote blood circulation, which help to conceive.

I’d recommend getting a blood test to check for any vitamin and mineral deficiencies. For example, if you have a vit D deficiency, the amount in OTC supplements is nowhere near enough to actually improve it. Both of my twins are autistic, and I found out after they were born that I have a severe vit D deficiency. There are some studies showing a potential link between maternal vitamin D deficiency and autism (amongst other things) - it’s only one factor but I’d pay a lot more attention to vitamins and minerals if I TTC again.

@bingbangbing ha yes indeed. Well first for me, not DH.

@Broodyladyhere That's a great idea. I'll go google some now thanks.

@SinkGirl Thank you so much for sharing. I hadn't thought of doing this. I hope your LO are doing well.
