Hi ladies,

I'm getting myself a bit freaked out & hoping for some positive stories. I'm currently 3 days late for af but have been getting negative hpts. Just got 2 faint positives this morning. With my first pregnancy I got super strong hpts from 4 days before af was even due. It's just so different to my first, does less hcg mean anything in terms of pregnancy outcome?

I've attached both tests which I believe are positive. I'd love some input (and line eyes 😊)

They do look positive! I'd expect them to be stronger at this stage. Had you had a lot to drink just before? Always possible your dates are wrong ? Were you tracking ovulation? It's possible you didn't ovulate when you think you did.

claireb707 · 08/03/2020 07:43

They aren't faint! I can see them both clearly without zooming in

Congratulations!

maria2bela · 08/03/2020 07:57

Yes those look positive to me!

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 08:03

@eatanazurecrayon this was fmu so wouldn't have been diluted. To be honest my sister had an ectopic so that's what I'm terrified of. I might have ovulated late as I was only half heartedly tracking ovulation so didn't actually catch my peak. I just assumed it was around day 13 but I missed a day or 2 somewhere.
@claireb707 ah thank you so much. Fingers crossed x

@maria2bela thank you so much for looking, I really hope you're right xx

Definitely look positive to me!!

stillhayley · 08/03/2020 09:03

@Lori86 have you been having any symptoms?

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 09:12

@stillhayley thank you. Yes I've had very bad nausea unless I've just eaten, sore boobs and nipples, wee crampy twinges, tiredness and headache. The nausea had got very bad the last 2 days.

stillhayley · 08/03/2020 09:16

@Lori86 when was af due? Mine was due on Friday and still nothing! I have got sore boobs, nausea, feel like I'm getting a cold and weirdly my left nipple has been leaking a tiny bit! I stopped breast feeding nearly 2 years ago and haven't had anything like that before. Your negatives-were they frer also? What was your cm been like x

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 09:31

@stillhayley af would have been due Thursday or Friday. Oh that sounds promising, fingers crossed for you. My cm has been really weird, I had a big increase in it & the last few days I've been getting weird white stringy bits in it.
The negatives were on a clear blue digital before I was due & a really cheap one I got from amazon on Friday.

stillhayley · 08/03/2020 09:34

@Lori86 I may try a frer today- they're just so bloody expensive though aren't they! You won't ever get a bfp on a digital until later as they aren't as sensitive! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you xx

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 09:39

@stillhayley fingers crossed for you. The frer are ridiculously expensive, I was having a debate with my husband about whether to buy another or not. I think I might try to get a gp appt tomorrow to ask her advice as I just can't shake the feeling the line should be stronger by now. Let me know if you get your positive 😊

@lori86 have you had a baby before? I’ve been the doctors before when I found out I was pregnant and they didn’t even do another test- just asked me had I done one and that was that! Waste of time really! I think that line looks similar to what I’ve had on a frer before around time of period- id just get another one and check it’s gone darker xx

Teacup34 · 08/03/2020 09:50

With my 2nd and third pregnancies I didn't get a positive test until about 3 days late and they were quite faint probably more faint than yours! You probably just ovulated late.

Teacup34 · 08/03/2020 09:53

Stillhayley my nipple leaked before I could get a positive that was how I knew i was pregnant!!

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 10:12

@stillhayley yes my wee boy is 17 months. I got a really strong positive with him 4 days before I was even due af. I didn't need to go the gp with him as I did 5 tests in total & they all were very strong positives!! I thought the gp might do a blood test on me because of the circumstances this time but maybe I'm being overly optimistic.
@teacup34 that's good to hear. It's great to know it's not always a sign of something wrong as I stupidly googled it & got quite gloomy results. Googling symptoms is awful really!!

Teacup34 · 08/03/2020 10:22

Step away from Google!! Lol it really won't help when you feel anxious. Give it a few days and retest I bet you will see a much stronger line!!

Ozziewozzie · 08/03/2020 10:26

Everyone has diff hcg levels and each Baby can produce diff hcg levels. The point is that the levels increase. I’ve had really strong lines and terribly faint ones yet all have resulted in a baby, do try not to worry.

Lori86 · 08/03/2020 10:29

@Teacup34 you're right, Google never tells you nice things!! I'm just going to enjoy the day with my little family & try not to think about it much more. Thanks for your advice x

@Ozziewozzie ah that's good to hear, thank you so much. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to reply. Just gonna relax now & hope the line gets stronger in the next few days.

Oh really? Was it just the one? It’s just my left and from memory that’s the one I preferred feeding from and always got the most milk from. This is just the tiniest bit though- you know like when you get colostrum and there is just like a dot at the end of your nipple. It’s not yellow like colostrum though, it’s like cloudy x

@Lori86 I honestly think you just ovulated later than you thought. Take another in a couple of days and you'll know where you stand. Congrats! Such a happy time 🥳

Teacup34 · 08/03/2020 13:22

It was just the one I can't remember which but it was a trickle and it was white, I was in the bath so maybe the warmth drew it out.
