Has anyone found out they were pregnant after having an unusually lighter and shorter period?

ello everyone! I am a bit confused right now. I am 26 and have no kids. Until recently I have never missed a period and they always come around the same time and last typically 5 days. My period ended up coming 9 days late completely not having one in Feb. When I finally got my period it just didnt feel right. It was super light, hardly any cramps and only lasted about 2 and a half days(basically ended yesterday). I have been testing every morning for the past week because my fiance and I have not been using protection and I am not on birth control. The tests have all been negative but I am so confused because of how late my period was and it being so different. If anyone has any similar experiences please share! And thank you in advance for any advice!

Hi! I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks in October. Had my first period after on the 1st December though I really didn’t count it as a period as it was extremely light and short, like 1 day and not even enough for pad! I then bled again in 1st Jan but again really light and short, maybe bit more than December but no where near a normal period! Then again on the 2nd feb I started bleeding again so now pretty regular thought they must be my periods but obvs very worrying they were so light as again this only lasted 1-2 days and was really light. However I have just found out I’m pregnant again! I was very worried as googling it was telling me all sorts about how it is hormones too low etc so I don’t know and I’m now obvs very worried about the pregnancy after what happened to the last one! Have you had any more development done any more tests or had more bleeding op?

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ my usual periods were 10 days long and heavy, this particular one lasted 6 days and was a lot lighter. Found out I was pregnant a few weeks later (was 9 weeks when I found out) and now have a four month old x

It could have been implanted bleeding from when the embryo attaches to the womb. People do sometimes mistake this for a light period, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions if tests are negative.

Hormones should reach detectable levels about a week/10 days after implantation, so test again next week to make sure.

It could Have been an implantation bleed. To be honest though I wouldn't jump to any conclusions until you have a positive pregnancy test.

Good luck x

Similar scenario with me - ? Positive test after late and short period - although only a slightly lighter flow than I’m used to x

Hi! Responding to @pushingnic I am sorry about your miscarriage but i am happy to hear you are now pregnant! (: I ended up having a little more bleeding for about 2 extra days but it was still very light. I have continued testing and they have all been negative. Also the symptoms I was having stopped after the bleeding so at this point I think those were period symptoms and i must have had an irregular period. I am just hoping I will get back to being regular again.
