TTC and starting to exercise

Hi all, I'm new to posting but have been reading messages on the forum and really appreciate the sense of community on here.

I am just going into my third cycle of ttc and we do not have any children. On my first cycle I had a chemical and though it was sad and frustrating I was encouraged that we had managed to conceive if only briefly! Then I was excited as I read so much about people conceiving again on the next cycle, but though we did everything the same, nothing.

I am within a normal bmi but could do to lose a stone and I am completely non active atm. I was delaying starting to exercise again as I was hoping to conceive (naively!) but I now think I need to get on with life and start jogging/ getting back into a routine that will make me happier and more positive all round. Is light jogging ok while ttc though, if I only start now at the beginning of a new cycle? I worry about damaging my chances of implantation...

I also need to up my fruit/veg intake and will focus on this rather than on a calorie deficit.

I am a bit fretful about coronavirus atm and what that might mean in early pregnancy if we were lucky enough to conceive, but I am halfway through 38 and feel I should not delay at this point.

I used OPKs last month and just ordered a femometer for next but trying not to get too hung up while doing what I can to maximise our chances x

A bit spooky, I could have written this! I am also about to start ttc and am worried about coronavirus AND I'm a heathy BMI but could also stand to lose a stone. Nice to know I'm not alone :)

Hey both - I've been TTC 1st baby for 8 months. I joined a gym a few weeks ago and am trying really hard now to lose some weight and get in shape - hoping it will help my health generally but also with TTC. Unlike you, I am overweight so need to lose 4+ stone, but I feel good that I'm finally doing something about it now. Good luck!

Thank you for your replies! Exercise and being well and active can surely only be a good thing, right?! Plus it gives me something to focus on other than counting days on my app til my fertile cycle/ovulation/af etc. Now that it's looking a bit brighter outside hope I'll have more energy too!x

Yep I totally agree - having other things to focus on, especially in the FW and TWW can only be a good thing as otherwise it's very easy to get completely and utterly obsessed! Been to the gym twice the week so far and plan to go again tomorrow, just need to keep it going!

Hi 👋🏼 I'm TTC and also trying to lose about a stone. My BMI is 24, so want to be comfortably in the "healthy" range. I was curious too if it was ok, but if you look at the NHS guidelines they really encourage exercise throughout pregnancy.
