Ok so a little background. Had 2 CP nov and dec and then a positive test last month. Unfortunately i started bleeding 8 days after AF was due which was light (unusual for me) and only lasted 4 days.
Fast forward to now, for the past 2 weeks ive been poorly with a viral infection. Anyhow i noticed i was getting dry and itchy below which i presumed was the antibiotics. Then the past week i have had spotting which went from redish to brown. Tonight i decided to do a test just to make sure and there are 2 lines. Not the strongest but clearly visible.
What is going on? Surely i cant be pregnant after bleeding? Im so confused right now. Has anyone had anything similar? I plan to go docs next week but need to get through this weekend.

Some bleeding in early pregnancy is normal, especially if it’s light and not like your usual period. If you never got a negative test after your bleed it’s quite possible the bleeding wasn’t losing the pregnancy. Hopefully the doctor can refer you for a scan.

Thankyou for your reply. I didnt take a test after bleeding so im not sure if it was negative. Hopefully the doctor can give me some answers this week.

Hey OP! I’m in a similar boat, what I presumed was AF starting 4 days late was short, mixed with a lot of cm and not usual as I didn’t cramp or anything. Since that stopped (now a week ago) I’ve been nauseous on and off, lost my appetite, had continual ovulation type cramping and increased cm throughout. I decided this morning to take test and I swear I can see a faint second line, it’s not super strong and because I haven’t been super nauseous, I will wait 2 days and restest. I called a mid-wife the other day who was the one to recommend the test, she was very split as to what was going on (mainly because it was a phone call) but did say that because I was at the time of the call 30days after my last period started she said there was a high chance that this was the start of things but early days. So hang in there and know you aren’t alone! I’ll keep updated as to how things turn out on Monday when I test again ✨

Sounds similar to whats happening to me. I had no clotting etc and usually i do have a fair bit as im a heavy bleeder.
Its so confusing as i havent done anything since that as ive been so poorly and so has my OH. So its impossible to have caught again.
Ive done a couple of tests today and they are faint but there. Im wondering if not all the tissue came away which is giving me a false positive.
Ill keep this post updated as to what happens.

Hey there! Any updates? I missed the boat Monday and this morning for fmu so I’ll be testing tomorrow 😅

calimommy · 10/03/2020 20:15

I'm guessing you would be 6-7 weeks if it was the same pregnancy so
You should be getting much stronger lines? Could be retained products or just hormones taking a while to leave your system. After one miscarriage I tested positive for a further 8 weeks (had miscarried at 11 weeks).

gingerglitter4ever · 11/03/2020 16:15

Okay so this morning’s test was the same, faint and frustrating haha but I bought a FRER so I will see what that gives me

Solomon1212 · 11/03/2020 19:04

Just to update i went to the docs yesterday and she said its a common thing and may take a few weeks to go depending on what my levels were. She said to wait and see if i get my period thus month and if so to test after ive stopped. If its still positive they will send me for a scan. So it seems its a waiting game for me.

@Solomon1212 that doesn’t sound right, your doctor definitely shouldn’t be telling you to “wait and see”. Can you contact your early pregnancy unit and see if they’ll give you a scan?

Also, do you have any pain in either side of your lower abdomen? Even if it’s very mild. If you do get to the EPU as soon as possible, I’ve had spotting and abnormal bleeding in early pregnancy with a small amount of pain on the right of my lower abdomen due to an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy wasn’t in my tubes, it was right on the entrance where the tube meets your uterus which is why it didn’t present the way a normal ectopic pregnancy does).

I hope it’s not that, best of luck to you Flowers

Solomon1212 · 12/03/2020 00:10

Im sorry you went through that. How horrible for you.
I dont have any pains and the doctor done quite a thorough exam and poked and proded.
Hopefully my body just needs a while to sort itself out.

Just to update tests are now coming back negative before af so obviously just my body trying to get back to normal.
