Hello! Only on CD7 and not due to ovulate for another 10ish days, just looking for some company and chat for the month. Is anyone else on a similar cycle and due to test the end of March? X

@A08x Thanks, trying to keep myself busy and hopefully If we need to try again next month I will chill out more.
@Mrsdingle2019 I’m 5dpo today too, sorry no advice to get you through the 2ww as I’m obsessed ha.

Olivia2020 · 09/03/2020 18:16

@tossacoin1 yeh I am using them! I have the cheap strips and the digital clear blue just to confirm! Because my cycles were so erratic after coming off the pill they really have helped! When are you due AF?

lsmbx · 09/03/2020 18:36

AF due 5th April ovulation due 21st March! Baby dust to all of you x

lsmbx · 09/03/2020 19:06

I am on cycle day 14 (40 day cycles... Confused)
Due to ovulate day 26/27 (22/23rd March)
AF due 5th April
1st cycle trying
Came off birth control October, been tracking cycles since then

Using:

  • ovulation strips
  • 4 apps - Ovia, Flo, Femometer, Premom (just discovered premom and seems amazing, you can upload your test strip photos and it analyses them!)
  • ordered some preseed lube
  • And I'm taking folic acid and vitamin D supplements daily.
tossacoin1 · 09/03/2020 20:07

@Olivia2020 I'm due af 26th March. The opk this morning was negative but I had ewcm earlier so I'm really not convinced by it. I've got the cb digital one, have you found it differs much to your app?

ThomasinVye · 09/03/2020 20:26

@calimommy oh no. Never the right time to have a baby financially really. What country do you live in?

Due date for this cycle would be 27th November 2020 so little chance of christmas baby. Next month would be far to close to christmas day for me.

How long do you all who use OPKs get positive tests for? I have had clear positives for two days.

ThomasinVye · 09/03/2020 20:29

Apps don't work for me. I seem to ovulate a different times during the month. I had EWCM starting two or three days prior to a positive OPK.

calimommy · 09/03/2020 20:38

@ThomasinVye we are in the states atm but from Ireland.

ThomasinVye · 09/03/2020 20:57

@calimommy can I ask a question out of curiosity. How will your maternity pay/leave work out for you?
I think I am very fortunate I get 6 weeks 90% pay and 12 weeks half pay before statutory pay. This is still a massive pay cut for me and I am saving now to ensure I can take 9 months off. My friend lives in the states and I was shocked at the leave. She got 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks unpaid!

calimommy · 09/03/2020 22:00

@ThomasinVye in California it's 14weeks paid I believe but I'm a SAHM. My first two were born in Ireland and you get almost a year off (not entirely full pay). My third was born here but I haven't worked since we moved.

Olivia2020 · 10/03/2020 08:35

@tossacoin1 I'm actually finding the clear blue isn't working that well for me matching up to other symptoms but trying not to stress too much as I think my peak is really short so where it's not practical/ cost effective to test loads I think it's easy to miss. Let me know how you get one with yours! I'm just planning to DTD every other day from Sat to Friday

ThomasinVye · 10/03/2020 09:08

If I am honest I prefer the cheap test strips. If I could upload a picture I would show how they progress. Everything does seem to have matched up. Two days of positive OPKs, clearblue and my own symptoms (EWCM and pain on my right side). I took an OPK this morning and test line is really dark but not as good as yesterday so I am counting today as 1DPO.
I do think they have helped me to understand my cycles are not ordinary and just using an app wouldn't work. I may try just dtd every other 2 -3 days from cycle day 10 to 24 in the next few cycles if unsuccessful this month. The Clear blue are super expensive. The OPKs just ruin my day when negative in the morning so as good as they are mentally they aren't helpful for the week I am stressing about them

Nat4392 · 10/03/2020 09:15

Hi! 👋🏻
TTC first baby, cycle #7
Currently on CD9, expect to ovulate around CD13/14 and AF due around 27th.
Tracking ovulation using strips and CB digital tests. Using conceive plus and fertility cup and have also been going to fertility reflexology.
Me and DH are currently in self-isolation after travelling to Italy last week so plenty of baby making opportunities this week! 🙈
Hopefully this is our month, it’ll be a good story to tell to say the least! 😊

paintfairy · 10/03/2020 09:31

I got high OPKs yesterday. So either it's already happened or is about to. AF due 26th March.

emma4282 · 10/03/2020 09:44

I'm due to ovulate in the next couple of days and have been DTD every other day since I came off my period on the 5th - also eating Brazil nuts & pineapple (google it 😂) my other half thinks I'm nuts haha, but no harm in trying the good food to see if it works! 😂

Olivia2020 · 10/03/2020 10:04

@Nat4392 I was actually saying to OH there will probably be a baby boom! Enjoy isolation Wink

@ThomasinVye agreed about the strips and also feeling rubbish when they're negative. I take a picture and input into the Glow app which gives a good day by day view and analyses it

@emma4282 I say try anything!

@paintfairy sounds promising

tossacoin1 · 10/03/2020 10:09

@Olivia2020 I've been thinking the exact same thing! As well as ewcm yesterday I also had ovulation pain yesterday late evening. I got my first flashing smiley today but to me I feel like it should be a solid smiley based on my symptoms. But same as you we are going to dtd every other day 🤞🏻

emma4282 · 10/03/2020 18:30

Just got my positive on my clear blue digital and a strong positive on the cheap OPK - had a feeling all day that I wanted to take a OPK test and I'm glad I did - we DTD last night and will continue to DTD over the next couple of nights - means I'll ovulate around CD 12-13 as I'm on CD11 at the moment 😊

TTC testing end of March!
Olivia2020 · 11/03/2020 07:33

Woohoo @emma4282 looks great!

Yay I actually got my peak on a CB this morning when I never normally do, OH is back from a course later so fingers crossed got it covered Grin

ThomasinVye · 11/03/2020 13:31

Slightly off topic question but interested to know others views.
Alcohol consumption whilst trying to conceive. Personally me and my partner are not big drinkers, there is never alcohol at home and I only have a max 3 drinks on a proper evening out or one glass of wine if I go out for dinner.
Since trying to conceive I have only had a few glasses of wine, and limited this to when I am on my period and feel anxious about exceeding this.
I am going out with friend Friday, not seen them in a while and it was booked a long time ago, prosecco afternoon tea. It is only one glass per person. What are peoples views? Shall I make an excuse as to why I can't drink the prosecco (I've paid the extra) and donate to someone else or will it do no harm? Don't want this group knowing I am trying to conceive, don't want to pressure.
I feel mildly daft for worrying about it.

Nat4392 · 11/03/2020 13:59

@ThomasinVye honestly, for such a small amount, I’d still have the prosecco. There’s only so much you can do and avoiding alcohol completely when TTC can be a nightmare. I avoided it to a point but I’ve been TTC for 7 months now and I’m now just drinking as normal (I hardly drink to excess, a few glasses a week maybe if that). Obviously if I got a BFP then it would be stopped, but the odd glass of wine isn’t really going to have any negative effects whilst TTC. Obviously others may feel differently but it’s your decision at the end of the day. I wish I didn’t tell people I’m TTC so keeping it to yourself sounds like a good plan to me!

ThomasinVye · 11/03/2020 14:16

@Nat4392
Thank you for replying. I feel the same. It has been so many months now and I think I've had about 4 glasses of wine in that time but only allowed myself when on my period. I would not go out and drink a bottle but think maybe I'm stressing to much. I have told one person and that's it. Couldn't deal with the constant questioning. I'm already disappointed every month. I'm now dreading going out because I have to make up an excuse not to have my normal glass of red wine. I definitely need a month away from conceiving if unsuccessful this month.

calimommy · 11/03/2020 14:27

@ThomasinVye I use the rule "all bets are off until that second line". I eat all the sushi and drink all the wine and eat all the stinky blue cheese and rare steak. You won't be sharing a blood stream with baby until the placenta forms and takes over around 8-10 weeks. Not saying I wait that long haha but by a missed period it's still such early days. Once I get a positive test then I stop everything. You can't live your life in a 'maybe', it puts so much extra pressure on you.

emma4282 · 11/03/2020 19:19

@Olivia2020 yay! Glad you got your peak! Time to DTD! We DTD Monday & Tuesday night and will again tonight and tomorrow - took another OPK (cheap tests) when I got home and was even stronger line than last night, fingers crossed we all fall this month 🤞🏼

Mrsdingle2019 · 11/03/2020 20:06

I've been feeling pretty rubbish all day today, headache, nausea and so tired I could have fallen asleep at my desk which is so unlike me! Now I'm lying on the sofa with a strange pain in my tummy, a little crampy and sharp if I cough on my right hand side. Dont know if I'm coming down with something or if it's implantation (7 dpo so I think too early??) What do you guys think?

I'm trying so hard to symptom spot but this ttc lark is really starting to get inside my head!
