Short Luteal Phase Gang!

Beau20 · 27/02/2020 09:05

I started a thread a while ago asking for success stories but now I would love to get all the girls together who are struggling to conceive with their short Luteal Phase!

Here's a little bit about me -

TTC #1
Cycle 7
28 years old
Luteal phase average 9-10 days longest being 11 days.
Ovulation CD17-18 cycles 26-28 days long

I have had 2 pregnancies before (both termination please no flaming) both conceived without even trying, one with my current partner of 6 years. I also had a chemical in January. My last contraception was Nexplanon for 1 year and before that I was on the pill for 10 years or so (which was when I conceived previous). I have been taking 50mg sertraline for 6 months then 100mg sertraline for 6 months after that and have just stopped completely today. This is the only thing I have been doing differently since I conceived last time so part of me thinks this may affect fertility.

I'd love to hear about everyone else's journey! x

Which Soy Isoflavones did you take @Beau20? Hoping it's a good sign you're on track to ovulate earlier this month. I got a nothing pissing flashing smiley this evening and IC line was barely visible 🙄🙄

Wearenotyourkind · 07/03/2020 18:04

I'm also on cycle #8, so we have a lot in common

Beau20 · 08/03/2020 08:04

@Wearenotyourkind these are the ones. One app is telling me I ovulated yesterday, one today and one in 2 days time 🤨🤨 I wouldn't even say the OPK from yesterday morning was 100% peak and last night it was only 'high'. Let's see what this morning says!

Thank you @Beau20 I think I'll get for next cycle. How are you getting on? I think we are at similar stages usually? I'm CD22 and have finally got peak OPK today. Was starting to think I wasn't going to ovulate. But last few months, my cycle has been 26/27 days, so really hoping it's longer than that this month otherwise my LP will be even shorter! Last time I ovulated so late, I had a 32 day cycle, so hoping it's the same length this month.

Hope everyone else is doing okay?

Beau20 · 12/03/2020 09:17

@Wearenotyourkind I have had a veryyyyy strange cycle!! I've not had a high peak reading yet and my OPKs have been up and down for the last 5 days. All my apps are saying ovuation was CD13 or 14 based on the low Peak OPKs which matches my ovulation pain but I only had a little EWCM. I've had no rise in temp at all! Last night an this morning I've had another low peak OPK reading (CD16/17) so now I'm thinking maybe I didn't ovulate. I'm using a different brand of OPK this month (easy@home) and did 2 Ovaview tests with the same wee Mon & Tues and they were both negative whereas the Easy@home ones where a high reading. Last few months I got my peak CD16-17 so maybe this is it?

No idea whats going on!

🤦🏻‍♀️ @Beau20 it's so confusing at times, isn't it. Just when you feel like you've got some sort of pattern, things are turned on their head and you're left wondering what the fuck is going on! I get most annoyed about DTD when you think you're in the FW, but then it moves based on OPKs and you feel like you've wasted the effort and bastard little swimmers 😂😂 feeling frustrated today!!!

Beau20 · 12/03/2020 09:56

@Wearenotyourkind I feel ya!!! We DTD perfectly during what I thought was FW then stopped. SO not covered AT ALL if this is a peak now. And to be quite frank, I am soooooo so sick of baby making sex. I cannot wait for the whole thing to be over.

Wearenotyourkind · 12/03/2020 10:04

@Beau20 yep I'm 100% with you on this!!!! Let's hope cycle #8 is successful for at least on of us!

Trying2019 · 12/03/2020 19:51

@Beau20 your OPKs are odd. If your temp hasnt risen i guess your ovulating now 🙈 how annoying.

Another pregnancy announcement in work..dont think i can cope with much more xx

Beau20 · 12/03/2020 20:24

@Trying2019 just got a blazing peak OPK and I've not DTD in 4 days..: I'm out again. Not a single other ovulation symptom either

OP posts:
Beau20 · 12/03/2020 20:24

@Trying2019 I think id cry at the next pregnancy announcement... it's heartbreaking

OP posts:
Wearenotyourkind · 12/03/2020 21:08

Yep I'm with you on this. I now know 8 people who are currently pregnant. My heart breaks a little more with every announcement.

Trying2019 · 12/03/2020 22:44

@Beau20 DTD tonight u never know. I always worry about missing it but cant cope with trying every couple of days

@Wearenotyourkind I cried again 😭🙈 thankfully i wasnt in work when i found out. It was someone not even trying as well. Im happy they don't have all the TTC stress but so jealous. Its so unfair

Beau20 · 13/03/2020 07:20

@Trying2019 OH wasn't interested last night and neither was I so I'm out for last night.

Eurghhh people who say they 'weren't trying' I don't believe that bullshit at all! 2 recent pregnant people at work said this. Both were asked omg so contraception failed?! And they both said noooo I hadn't been taking it for ages but we weren't 'actively' trying you know?

No. That's goddamn trying!! People dumb it down at all the time, I wouldn't believe it! Would you tell your work colleagues that you were temping, doing OPKs, taking all these supplements for months and months on end? I know i certainly wouldn't they'd think I was crazy!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 13/03/2020 07:49

There's trying and trying. But yeah- not using contraception is trying. Even if not planning it to the right day.

Beau20 · 13/03/2020 20:33

Update girls, I mustn't have ovulated on CD13-14 as I've just had a blazing positive OPK and all the symptoms again. CD18!! 😭😭 this is my latest ovulation yet - I'm not sure if I should take some comfort in knowing my body tried earlier but didn't manage it. I'm going to take the soy isoflavones 2 days earlier this next cycle

OP posts:
Wearenotyourkind · 13/03/2020 20:42

I had peak OPK yesterday at CD22, so should have ovulated today. Really late too. So what day will you start the Soy Isoflavones from @Beau20?

Beau20 · 13/03/2020 21:44

@Wearenotyourkind it's awful isn't it - I never have longer than a 28 day cycle no matter when I ovulate. I'm going to take days 2-6 next
time. I did 4-8 this cycle

OP posts:
Trying2019 · 17/03/2020 16:25

How is everyone? Im on holiday but everything is on lock down. Its my FW as well. Is everyone still TTC with the new advice? I am. Ive not got pregnant in 9 month's i doubt anything will happen now xx

Beau20 · 17/03/2020 16:42

@Trying2019 Hi lovely! Where abouts are you??

I had my day 21 bloods done yesterday and got the results today - progesterone @ 13... which is exceptionally low! She said I will have ovulated (which is good) as if I hadn't, she'd expect the result to be like 1. So I'm having the same bloods done tomorrow to see if progesterone has gone up at all.

Apparently 30 is what is considered viable to support a pregnancy and around 25+ they wouldn't be overly concerned with. But she said she is concerned at 13. Should know the results for that on Thursday.

OP posts:
Beau20 · 17/03/2020 16:49

@Trying2019 as for still TTC. Yes and no. I am going to stop actively TTC (my body is just saying no) nothing to do with the coronavirus, I'm just so so sick of it all and it has totally consumed my life.

So not charting a thing anymore, no more vitamins. But also not doing anything to prevent if that makes sense?

OP posts:
lunamoon1 · 17/03/2020 18:25

Hi all, not been on this thread in a while, how is everyone?

@Trying2019 oh dear, are you far away? Hopefully you will be able to get home easily.. the world is going crazy. Have decided to keep TTC for now, unless things change, I'm in my TWW so had already tried this month anyway...

@Beau20 fingers crossed for a better result for you at the next draw, are you sure they were done 7DPO? It might be that they were just done too early

Beau20 · 17/03/2020 18:30

@lunamoon1 I had 2 peak ovulation days this month and all the symptoms both time so who knows! I had them done either 8DPO or 1DPO 🙈
