Short Luteal Phase Gang!

I started a thread a while ago asking for success stories but now I would love to get all the girls together who are struggling to conceive with their short Luteal Phase!

Here's a little bit about me -

TTC #1
Cycle 7
28 years old
Luteal phase average 9-10 days longest being 11 days.
Ovulation CD17-18 cycles 26-28 days long

I have had 2 pregnancies before (both termination please no flaming) both conceived without even trying, one with my current partner of 6 years. I also had a chemical in January. My last contraception was Nexplanon for 1 year and before that I was on the pill for 10 years or so (which was when I conceived previous). I have been taking 50mg sertraline for 6 months then 100mg sertraline for 6 months after that and have just stopped completely today. This is the only thing I have been doing differently since I conceived last time so part of me thinks this may affect fertility.

I'd love to hear about everyone else's journey! x

@GlassLily sorry I thought I replied to your last post. The exhaustion for me is awful I can barely get up the stairs without being out of breath I think it’s because I’ve gotten unfit due to the bad sickness and not moving at all. I’m still on anti sickness meds but less and starting to feel less sick and haven’t vomited for about 4 days lol

I had my scan today baby was looking good it was so magical to see it moving and lifting it’s arm 😍. They weren’t able to get the nuchal measurement as baby was in awkward position but they said I can have bloods done in few weeks for the Down syndrome. She did manage to measure and said all looked ok but couldn’t get proper accurate measurement of the neck fluid. But I think baby looked healthy.

I hope all is well with you and glad to hear your bump is progressing ! I also have a little bump bigger than I expected at this stage I obviously have no stomach muscles lol.

GlassLily · 15/08/2021 09:23

@Slk3558 haha I thought the same thing about my abs 🤣 clearly no muscle there to hold in the bump!

I'm the same with getting out of breath, my fatigue isn't as bad now but I still get puffed out from the slightest exertion. I thought the same, that I'm unfit from the first trimester of being so ill and not moving. I reckon it's also my increased heart rate too, surely that must affect it - resting heart rate is about 10bpm higher than normal so no wonder everything is so much more exhausting. So glad your baby is doing well. I'm suddenly 15 weeks and no idea where the time went! I bought nappies the other day.... Bit early, but thought that was an easy place to start with the preparations. Have you bought much?

Slk3558 · 15/08/2021 09:58

@GlassLily I’m going to start taking a high dose iron supplement I think I might have low iron because I have all the symptom heart palpitations dizziness exhaustion and breathlessness. Would make sense as so much vomiting in 1st tri.

I’ve not bought anything lol though I’ve been researching travel systems online 😁

I know what you mean I’ll be 14 weeks on Tuesday and it’s starting to hit home now we have reached the second trimester!! Has your sickness gone now? I’m slowly regaining my appetite but still get funny taste in the back of my mouth every time I eat and still nauseous for about half the day. But at least no vomiting !

GlassLily · 19/08/2021 13:23

@Slk3558 the sickness has stopped!! I feel like a different person. I have the occasional bit of nausea but haven't vomited in weeks!

The iron thing sounds interesting, makes me want to get tested!

Travel systems.... Is that what prams are called now??

Slk3558 · 01/09/2021 11:00

@GlassLily sorry I somehow missed your last post. That’s great the sickness has stopped. I’m happy to report I’m coming out on the other side too, starting to enjoy certain foods again and vomiting more or less stopped.

Yes travel systems are the ones we’re you have the stroller/car seat/pram attachments so it’s interchangeable. Good if you use the car a lot.

Have you started feeling any movements yet? I’ve been feeling flutters and tickles for about a week now! You must be about 17 weeks now? I’m 16+1 today xx

GlassLily · 10/09/2021 03:26

@Slk3558 that's so great the vomiting has stopped! It's the best feeling, isn't it.

Oh right, I've started looking at those now. The detachable bit is so expensive though, given you can only use it for a short period of time!

Yes! I had some swirly feelings for a while but my first more certain movement was at 17 weeks - I'm now 19 weeks and I think they are getting a bit more regular and noticeable! It's so lovely. I can't wait til my partner can feel them from the outside. 20 week scan next week! It's all going so fast and I still haven't bought anything 🤣
