Short Luteal Phase Gang!

Beau20 · 27/02/2020 09:05

I started a thread a while ago asking for success stories but now I would love to get all the girls together who are struggling to conceive with their short Luteal Phase!

Here's a little bit about me -

TTC #1
Cycle 7
28 years old
Luteal phase average 9-10 days longest being 11 days.
Ovulation CD17-18 cycles 26-28 days long

I have had 2 pregnancies before (both termination please no flaming) both conceived without even trying, one with my current partner of 6 years. I also had a chemical in January. My last contraception was Nexplanon for 1 year and before that I was on the pill for 10 years or so (which was when I conceived previous). I have been taking 50mg sertraline for 6 months then 100mg sertraline for 6 months after that and have just stopped completely today. This is the only thing I have been doing differently since I conceived last time so part of me thinks this may affect fertility.

I'd love to hear about everyone else's journey! x

Hi @LemonDrizzle44 welcome to the wonderful yet confusing, sometimes frustrating, waiting for our BFP world!

Yes mine also drops at 9dpo. I have just started taking Vitamin B complex and will also add in B6 which is suppose to help regulate hormones and help the LP, along with addedvitamin C which is meant to help progesterone.

Molly3456 · 13/08/2020 14:45

@Blossom428 yeah that is true I think I was worried if it made me ovulate a day late and still had the same 8 day luteal phase so I will monitor that this month.

I have taken it all month but I don’t know if I should take it after ovulation. I will try the vitamin C though thank you. The vitamin B6 defiantly help with PMS that’s for sure. What’s the difference between complex and B6?

Boc86 · 13/08/2020 14:59

I’ve actually just realised I was getting ‘period flu’ every single month...until I started b6! Now my period passes almost unnoticeable
It hasn’t shortened my LP though
How much are people taking of just the b6?

Blossom428 · 13/08/2020 15:49

Well B complex is all of the B vitamins in one. I have heard some people just take vitamin B12 up to ovulation and then b6 after. As B6 can sometimes push ovulation back too.
@Molly3456

I'm not really sure what the recommended to take for b6 is so I would be interested to know too @Boc86

Blossom428 · 13/08/2020 15:50

How did your scan go @Proseccoprincess33 was it Wednesday?

Proseccoprincess33 · 13/08/2020 17:32

Hello @blossom428 thanks for thinking of me. I hope you are well? Scan is booked for next week. Feels like a lifetime away 🙄 It's for next Fri as the Wed was completely booked. I will let yous know how it goes. Hopefully all will be well 🙏 xxx

Blossom428 · 13/08/2020 22:31

Ahhh sorry mis read that! You'll have to update once you've been, I'm sure everything will be moving along just fine @Proseccoprincess33
I'm coming up to FW so I'm glad the weather has decided to cool slightly 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 06:40

AF due today at 9dpo
Really praying it doesn’t turn up till tomorrow so I can extend LP by a day and say the b6 has been doing something

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 06:46

Just come on 🙄🙄🙄

SVC11 · 14/08/2020 06:57

Oh @Boc86 sorry that you've come on. It does take a while for the b6 to work I've read? X

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 07:04

Ahh does it, this is my second cycle
Something definitely brought my ov forward though x

Blossom428 · 14/08/2020 07:43

Sorry to hear that @Boc86 ! Keep positive 😊😊 it's Friday you can have a gin now 🙌🏼

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 08:24

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 15:58

My progesterone bloods came back low :(

AnonymousXXIX · 14/08/2020 16:38

@Boc86 eek I'm sorry : ( what does your GP suggest doing now?

Boc86 · 14/08/2020 17:01

Progesterone suppositories x

Blossom428 · 15/08/2020 07:59

Ohh have they @Boc86 .... is your doctor prescribing the progesterone, or are you with a fertility clinic?

Boc86 · 15/08/2020 08:03

I’m not actually sure who it is who prescribes, praying it’s the GP as it’ll be a long wait for a hospital appointment!

SpringDream · 15/08/2020 12:51

After some help please, based on the femometer app interpretation of my OPK's I ovulated on CD 23. I usually have a 28/29 day cycle. I am currently on CD30. I have been using femometer hcg strips and have had negatives for past few days (I know I'm only 7dpo). I just don't know when or if to test again, I don't have any FRERs because they are so pricey and I was waiting for the right moment before buying them.

Molly3456 · 16/08/2020 08:01

@SpringDream are your cycles regular? Do you ovulate same time every month etc? Maybe wait for 10dpo and then take a test?

Molly3456 · 16/08/2020 08:02

I think vitamin B6 has worked at helping my ovulation also this month! I always get my positive LH strip on cycle day 17 and I got it yesterday in cycle day 15! Trying not to get my hopes up but hopefully my luteal phase will be longer too

Blossom428 · 16/08/2020 09:07

That sounds positive @Molly3456 !! Fingers crossed.
I had a shocker and went from blank circle to static yesterday a lot earlier than normal, so now I'm gutted thinking I've missed it, as I didn't get the run up. 😩

SpringDream · 16/08/2020 09:30

@Molly3456 my cyclea are very regular in terms of length, I've only used OPKs for 2 months, last month I got my peak on day 17 and this month on day 20 so I'm not very hopeful this month as it looks as though I have ovulated later (I dont temp however). On day 31 today and femometer pregnancy strips are negative but I've heard bad reviews about these and technically I'm only 8dpo

Molly3456 · 16/08/2020 11:27

@Blossom428 fingers crossed I stopped taking B6 around day 10 as I think someone said it delays ovulation so maybe that is the reason why hopefully.

I have read when you get static it’s the best time to do it?? So hopefully you haven’t missed the run up as now is the best time to do it anyway? 🤗🤗 xxx

@SpringDream Yeah maybe try at 10dpo got my fingers crossed for you lovely xxx

Boc86 · 16/08/2020 11:51

I’m thinking of switching from b6 to b complex - how much b complex do people take please? X
