Hi,
This is my first month using these tests but have been trying for a few months. I started testing on CD8 and got the circle for the first two days, then flashing smiley for the next two days and then this morning I got the static smiley which is Peak. Does this mean that I am likely to ovulate within the next 24-36 hours? But is that from this morning....it is hard to tell when "peak" started if you know what I mean? Anyway I guess tonight we will be DTD and tomorrow in the hope of not missing this window. Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

It depends. I found it took a couple of months for it to suss my cycle. The first month I got flashing but no static smiley. Next month, I got flashing then static smiley for 2 days, third month, flashing smiley for 4 days then static for 2 days. Ststic might mean you've already ovulated, so have only about 12 hours, or are about to ovulated so probably 24 hours or maybe 36. Next month, make sure to dtd regularly once you hit flashing and every day that you get static. I found this kit worked well for me, as I had short but erratic cycles. Good luck!

Agree with above poster! It’s hard to pinpoint exactly but chances are you will ovulate over next 24 hours. If you dtd tonight you should be covered. Next month (hopefully not needed) just dtd every other day when you get the flashing smiley. Good luck!!

Thanks @turtletum and @HeyJupiter for your help. We dtd on the first day on flashing smiley (Sunday) but not yesterday and then this morning got the static smiley. I have read that the Clearblue advanced kit says not to test again once you get your static smiley....just so hard to know if I have already ovulated or I am going to within the next day. If I have already then will probably miss the window as we are both at work...so it will be tonight before we dtd Lol! There is just so much to take in with all this TTC Lol! Thanks for your help!

Don’t worry OP, very likely there are still sperm from Sunday night hanging around (they can survive for up to 5 days in your body!) so if you ovulated yesterday then you’re covered. Dtd again tonight just to be sure. Nothing more you can do :)

Wearyandfeelingold · 25/02/2020 11:10

Thanks @Heyjupiter...hopefully there will be and we will dtd again tonight just to be sure. Lol! Thank you for your help.

Hi ladies, first month using clear blue advanced opks. Got my first flashing smiley on Friday and then again on sat and sun, so Dtd on sat and sun. Got static smiley yesterday so dtd yesterday and again today. Hoping that covers me.

Wearyandfeelingold · 26/02/2020 09:31

When you get your first day static smiley, do you count that as ovulation day or do you count the next day as ovulation day? I got static smiley yesterday morning so just not sure what day to count as ovulation day? Lol! Thank you for your help.

Good luck @hopefulhel, sounds like you’ve more than covered it! :)

I always count the day after OP, or at least that’s what my Ovia tracker does. Got my clearblue kit in the post yesterday. My period this month has totally disappeared though (not pregnant) which is frustrating as want to get cracking!!

Wearyandfeelingold · 26/02/2020 10:23

Thank you @HeyJupiter! I got my static smiley yesterday morning so I will count today as ovulation day. I don't really use any other tracker - my fitbit gives you fertile window but probably is not that accurate. It says expected ovulation day is tomorrow but I will count it as today since I got the smiley yesterday. Maybe should dtd again later just to be sure! Lol! Do you recommend Ovia?
Aw that is frustrating...I know what that feeling is like...I am older and just feel like every month is slipping past when it doesn't work. Hopefully the clearblue kit will help you. Fingers crossed.....

Yes, I would definitely trust the static smiley over the fitbit. I like Ovia as it learns your individual patterns each month so predicts your fertile window etc. You can also use it for symptom spotting.

I think my period is delayed as ended up having urgent surgery on my ovulation day this month (badly fractured my elbow) which I think skewed my cycle or at least delayed things. All the drugs afterwards can’t have helped. I think if it hasn’t shown by next week I’ll assume I’m skipping it and will start using my clearblue sticks and see what happens.

The fact you are clearly ovulating is a wonderful sign, regardless of age. Will keep everything crossed for you x

Wearyandfeelingold · 26/02/2020 12:22

Thanks @HeyJupiter...I will have a look at Ovia and see how it works....can't do any harm I suppose.

Sorry to hear about needing surgery....that sounds so painful. I hope you are on the mend now and not in any pain. I definitely think that could be the reason your period is delayed....that has happened to me before and even when I get stressed...hopefully it will arrive soon and you can get started with the clearblue sticks.

Will keep everything crossed for you too! x

Hey guys,

I have been using the clear blue connected ovulation system starting this cycle and for some reason I have had 19 days of high fertility but no PEAK. I have had my ovaries tested on ultrasound and they were fine, been trying for over a year now and still no baby.

Have others had this??
