Hi all,

Thanks for reading :) I'm just looking for some advice. Sorry for TMI

I had an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage at the very beginning of January. It was really devastating as we had been trying for quite a while and were super excited. After the miscarriage I started BBT as I didn't want to wait as long to get pregnant again because let's face it TTC is hard on the emotions. After the bleeding had finished I had EWCM leading up to day 14 and an increase in BBT on day 14 indicating ovulation. I then had a normal period and was told we can try again as everything looked normal. This cycle I had EWCM up to day 15 but haven't had a raise in BBT and I'm now day 16 with the EWCM gone. I'm feeling really upset and confused as I just want to be pregnant again but I think this indicates I haven't ovulated?

Has anyone else had this? Or know if it possible not to ovulate every month? I've tried googling but I found MN very comforting through my miscarriage where people had shared their stories and I thought I'd ask Smile TIA

I had two miscarriages and both times my cycles were a bit wonky for around 8 weeks after, which feel like the longest weeks in the world! I don't believe I ovulated during those months. Prior to TTC, I used to have the occasional (maybe every 18mo) very long cycle, sometimes up to 50odd days which I also presume was a skipped ovulation for whatever reason, as i definitely wasn't pg.

I was temping but also using cheap amazon ovulation strips so that I didn't miss it. The test strips for me were the most useful.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

I had a MC in November and my first full cycle after that was weirdly short, I did ovulate (confirmed by temping with Natural Cycles) but both sides of my cycle were much shorter than usual and I didn’t have other symptoms. I’ve been using NC for a long time as it was my contraception before TTC, so it knows my cycle really well. I’ve confirmed ovulation every time but haven’t had the same level of other symptoms, like EWCM, every time, so it’s not so clear cut. I didn’t feel like my cycle got back to normal for 2 rounds. It is also possible not to ovulate every month so not too surprising when your cycle is already out of whack.

Try to be kind to yourself, it’s hard but you’ll get there!

Thank you both for replying Smile I'm sorry you have both been through MC Flowers its heart breaking isn't it?

I'm quite emotional this morning so it's nice to hear from others who have gone through it. It feels very lonely. I guess I just assumed that because after the miscarriage the BBT chart looked textbook (it's the first one I had done) I thought this cycle would be the same. As they said yes start trying again I hadn't considered it would take my cycles a while to get back to normal. I just went down this spiral of 'I'm not ovulating every month, that must be why it took us to long to get PG, now it's going to be even worse after the MC'
