Hi my ovulation tests seem to always be negative. The picture shows some of my tests, I’ve been following all the rules of when to test correctly. Has anyone else experienced this, getting slightly worried. Control line is on the right
Thank you

They aren't negative as such? Just not peak. I'm not familiar with those tests though. I use cheap ones. But I only get any line at all for 3 days in a month. That's it. Are you testing more than once a day?

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/02/2020 15:39

I used my temperature. Seemed very accurate (and I got pregnant quickly).

Whynosnowyet · 19/02/2020 15:40

I used the cheap strips. Tested at 2 pm and 10pm and always got the positive!!

hanna45 · 19/02/2020 15:57

@paintfairy oh really? I always presumed unless the line was darker than the control line then it was a complete negative. No I only test once a day usually x

@Whynosnowyet yeah I usually test late afternoon or evening but still always seems to be negative unfortunately

Sometimes I dont get complete positives. And the month I conceived I got every near positive (like yours) so I wouldn't worry :D

Anny27 · 19/02/2020 16:00

Very* not every

georgialondon · 19/02/2020 16:01

The key is to test twice a day.

hanna45 · 19/02/2020 16:18

@Anny27 thank you that’s good to know, glad things worked out well for you :)

The 3rd one is pretty close op so there is a chance that you missed your peak if you only test once a day. I'd test twice a day and the test needs to be as dark or darker than the control line. I always tested at 10am and 4 pm and always caught a surge when there was one (pcos - irregular cycles) and I've been pregnant 4 times

Mammyofasuperbaby · 19/02/2020 16:30

Basically testing between 10am till 8pm is the best window as lh will be at its highest in the day

Crystal87 · 19/02/2020 16:38

I think your third test looks almost positive which suggests you are ovulating. When ttcing myself I never got a completely positive result but did fall pregnant on the cycle that I used them, so I obviously did ovulate. When using these tests it is so easy to miss the surge. If you test at slightly the wrong time of day you can't guarantee a positive result even though you have ovulated. I would suggest the Clearblue digital tests with the smiley face as they are more definitive than looking at the colour of lines.

hanna45 · 19/02/2020 16:39

@mammyofasuperbaby ok thank you for the advice, when you say I could of missed my peak do you think my peak could of been before I took the 3rd test?

OP posts:
paintfairy · 19/02/2020 16:42

If only testing once a day you likely missed it. And negative is no line. Any colour shows LH but the darker the higher it is. He's mine from this month.

@Crystal87 ok that makes sense that’s good to know, thank you for the advice I’ll definitely look into the clearblue digital ones they sound much better

hanna45 · 19/02/2020 17:10

@paintfairy oh okay never realised that! That makes more sense. Thank you for showing me

Definitely looks like you have peaked to me. My internet cheapys never look quite as dark as the control line but my clear blue one shows a smiley face. So although the rule is as dark as the control line or darker. I think you can definitely ovulate based on yours xx

hanna45 · 19/02/2020 22:50

@Trying2019 oh really that’s good to hear, I really hope I have I was starting to get worried. Next month I’ll try with the clear blue one and see how it goes. Thank you :) xx

I used the clear blue advanced ones this month, alongside the internet cheap ones. It flashed 3 days before my peak. Then on my static day, I got a really high reading on my cheap one but it was actually higher still in the afternoon.
